Official Website

Overview:
Based on the manga of the same name, Upotte!! follows the daily lives of middle school range assault rifles. Our intermediate cartridge heroines face the many trials and tribulations of growing up Assault Rifles in an increasingly modular world. Fighting back rival contracts, their elder Battle Rifle sisters, and dreaming of the day when they can be properly maintained and handled by strong, sensitive hands, the characters of Upotte still find time to relax and enjoy their youth.

The manga will release it's 3rd volume in Japan this year and has spawned a 4koma spinoff called Upotte Nano

Look, I'm sorry, I don't want people to watch Upotte. I'm trying to warn you all.

This isn't one of those situations where I tell you how about how bad it is to try and get you to watch it - this is just a warning! How else can I put it?
Thanks. Now I can't play shooters ever again

in public.
something as amazing as upotte deserves its own thread
There's no incest in Upotte.
It is a substantial achievement to be sure.

But then again, Upotte kind of sells itself.
AMERICA, FUCK YEAH

oh my god. looks like akb0048 has some stiff competition for best show of the season
GENIUS. Pure genius.

So gloriously perverted. SO WRONG.

Belgium is hnng.

The other characters haven't really been featured yet so I can't rank them.

Now anime has made simple gun enthusiast talk into something perverted. THANK YOU ANIME.
Now when I go out to the range to shoot my AR15, I will be thinking of it as a moe girl. Anime has ruined guns for me.

I'm totally watching more of this fucked up show though!
I think that today was a watershed moment in the history of anime. Most emergent mediums have a moment that results in their being taken seriously as a legitimate art form. For the first time ever, we may have witnessed a moment that causes an art form never to be taken seriously again. The Hindenburg has finally crashed, but we're all roasting weenies and making s'mores in its flames instead of crying out for the dead. This is how it ends.

In for the amazing innuendo.
This show is deep. Never before has an anime evoked such a strong emotional response. This is the most unique and sincere attempt at showing the troubles and turbulence surrounding schoolgirl firearms anime has ever seen.
I wish I could travel back in time to shoot myself before I watched this.
I am going to watch all of this.
This is some deep shit.
By the way, I secretly wanted everyone to watch Upotte.

I succeeded.

So what are you waiting for? Happiness is a warm gun!

This show requires a lot of deep thought to grasp the mechanics. I'm still struggling with it right now.

This show is hilariously wrong, but its aware of that.
It embraces that.

But they got the muzzle rise thing wrong. Basically they didn't include it and that was disappointing. At least be accurate about it! If youre gonna go full auto then show what that looks like shooting, because this show will inevitably attract gun enthusiasts.

A+ to the OP. I was totally confused for a second. XD

Don't watch this people, the manga is totally dumb.

Nope. It has a LTTP by vox pop and there's a thread about the ps3 game.
Whatever man; we live in the current, and K-ON doesn't need a thread at this point in time. (since it's old). It's all about gun moe thesedays.

So is Japan's entire creative process for writing new manga/anime basically "What if _______ were middle school aged girls?" now?

Hmm? The girls are guns (who also shoot guns) and go to school. It's a simple premise.

But are the guns they shoot actually extensions of themselves, manifested at will? Or are the girls guns who carry around other guns in their book bags? It's a complex issue imo.

Aw, the OP totally made me think we had a story about guns being alive or some shit.
Modern-day soul eater?

...well, I'm watching it anyway.

I wish this was more like Soul Eater. As it is, the girls have no gun-like features on their bodies and you would have to figure it out based on the dialogue and a few sound effects.

Not much of an FPS fan?

I can't play first person games period for some reason.
