Rockstar Games giving away Midnight Club II on Steam

Unsupported, but works on 7-64?

*Goes and takes a look at screenshots*

Pass. I've got enough junk cluttering my library.

Cool offer though. Maybe it means they're trying to drum up publicity for a new sequel in the works.

lol. Less for you, more for us. Missing out on the most revolutionary racing game? Meh.

I hope this is a precursor to Midnight Club 4
MC:LA didn't happen :[
One can only hope.

I really liked this game back in the day on PS2, hope the PC version doesn't disappoint. Though, for free (even if delayed), how can it disappoint? It'd literally have to be a GTA4-level bad por--oh.

SmokyDave: You still have half an hour to buy Wolfenstein 3D for less than a quid! You only need one retail (as in bought with money) game on your account to qualify - go for it!

Sounds like the predecessor to Burnout Paradise. In for one!

One can say it is. It inspired a lot of games including Need For Speed, Burnout and many more. It's a must play, and for free? You would be CRAZY to ignore it.

The soundtrack is amazing, the sandbox levels are robust, A.I. is brutal, the vehicles are awesome, it includes bikes, it has online play, it has community mods and much more!

What a trash post. The very definition of a graphics whore, you don't even bother to try and determine if the actual, say, gameplay is any good?

It's a racing game that needs to be played with a controller (instead of a wheel). By that very definition it makes it inferior to a dozen games already sitting in my library. Dazzling graphics are the only way I'll make the sacrifice needed to play with a controller.

And thanks for deleting the rest of the post. You know, the part where I said it was very cool of them to do this.

You guys are terrible enablers and should be ashamed. Luckily some of us have enough self-control not to have this issue.

I already bought everything worth having :\

This is a car customising type of game right? Guess its time to go remake some cars from the fast and the furious. :P

I remember Midnight Club II being pretty cool, and my biggest issue was it was that the low resolution made it harder to see the city/turns/etc. Bet that's not an issue on the PC. Also bet it's way uglier than I remember.

EDIT: Steam page says it doesn't support Windows 7 or Vista, incidentally.

It works. There are fixes.
