Darksiders 2 Director - Wii U is pretty powerful, more resources, can do a lot more

Not a big deal but I'll continue the trend of Wii U power related topics with a short interview with the Darksiders 2 director. He talks briefly about the Wii U (2:54) and mentions that it is a pretty powerful machine, that it has more resources, and that you can do a lot more with it (I still can't figure if he means a lot more then the PS3/360 or a lot more then the Wii). What do you guys think.

Can we just all say that all next gen consoles will be able to produce Avatar Like graphics and be done with it?.

It will end when Nintendo releases a piece of hardware that is competitive with Sony and Microsoft. For good or bad, fair or unfair, this will continue taking place every gen.

Nintendo 64 and GameCube was more powerful than PS1 and PS2

What does it matter if they can't even exploit PC hardware? After watching it, he doesn't really say anything. Ending with 'overall we want it to be consistent', so besides making use of the second screen I doubt they'd bother make the textures look better.

Exactly and these types of topics didn't take place. It didn't help Nintendo in terms of winning the console 'war' but in terms of these types of topics, Nintendo releasing sub par hardware, that wasn't an issue back then.

Nintendo released subpar hardware in the Wii and is doing it again, though not as badly as with the Wii U. It is what it is.

I know we can't get a comparison with the PS4/Xbox8 as these don't exist yet, but is it so hard to specify the relationship between the Wii U and HD-twins?
There's a lot of developers with Wii U dev consoles on their hands, and by now they should know how much more powerful it is.

Have they even said how much RAM it has?

Yeah and important people from Vigil were telling us the console versions of DS2 had no screen tearing and the PC version was great. I'll believe it when I see it.

No, they still happened, that was his point.

The internet has changed since than, some people that came into gaming this gen thinks Nintendo always had weak hardware, if someone doesn't research they won't know.

Today reminds me of the time when that article from GamingIndustry said the Wii U was weaker than the PS3/360 from an anonymous source, and than it turned out 100% fake.

I pushed us over the precipice . . . mods feel free to lock. The link is in the first post if anyone wants to see, further discussion will not lead to anything worthwhile.

It's not like these threads will change what is inside the box. You can literally open the box and see what is inside when it releases.

Hey everyone!

Glad to see everyone back again! How are we doing? Wii doing good right? How about U?

Something something this console might be stronger than 360/PS3 or maybe not we don't know because thisisgaf.jpg and we all judge things from developers' opinions and impressions instead of giving it one simple chance!

...you know, this is a pretty good point to bring up. When it comes to technical claims, they sure do not have a good batting average as of late.

How is this a contradiction on anything? The Eurogamer topic is based on a complete lie which I'm not sure how the topic title hasn't been changed yet.

Edit: Did you really make a topic about an interview from March?

It doesn't even matter. Unless the console is significantly better than PS3 or 360, it doesn't matter if it's slightly better, or offers a modest boost ore any of that shit. The point is if it's going to be competitive for the next 5 years. Nobody gives a fuck how good it looks compared to current gen games when 720 and PS4 come out. Why even talk about it?

It's like when people spent their time arguing how much better Wii was than Gamecube. It didn't even fucking matter. The console could have literally been a Gamecube and there would only be a small number of games where it would matter.

It's a current gen console. That's the gist of it. That's all we need to know. It may be overclocked, whatever, it doesn't matter. It's a Wii to a Gamecube transition, again. It's feature matching the expectations of the last generation.

Can we fucking nuke these damn threads from orbit? Please?

Whether it's vaguely positive or negative about the Wii U, it's not 'new' news, so it shouldn't get its own thread. FFS.

Yeah... I don't get it.

Lets see how this plays out and let power talk stay in the community thread.
