Lock her up specifically with the people she helped put away.

Whatever happens, happens.

Shouldn't all the people who were originally put away from this now be let go?

If so that's awesome stuff, now people who may not have been criminals in the first place have been imprisoned, become criminals, and are then forced to be let out!

That's going to be one hell of a legal bill for the state. Crazy that one woman has so much justice in her hands. The results aren't even double checked by independent test facilities.

Officials said during her nine years the lab, Dookhan tested more than 60,000 drug samples. About 11,000 people now in jail were put there in part due to her work.

Already more than a dozen have been released because of questions about how she handled evidence.

"Everyone who's been convicted in the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk in the last five to six years, is possibly the victim of a very substantial miscarriage of justice," defense attorney John Martin said. "On the other hand, a lot of very dangerous people might get out of jail."

Co-workers called Dookhan "superwoman" because she tested more than 500 samples a month compared to 150 for a typical chemist.

The state crime lab was shut down last month. Special courts are now being set up to handle the thousands of cases that are expected to be reopened. As for Dookhan, if she's convicted of obstruction of justice and lying under oath, she could face more than 20 years in prison.
.

Holy shit, something like this should be life in prison. Why would she do this type of thing is beyond me. Did she also do the reverse and label a sample as negative when it was actually positive?

Wow...some people just want to watch the world burn.

She was just heartless - she wanted to be the person who did all the tests super duper quickly. So she'd just randomly label some things as having drugs in them, just to make it seem like she did work.

From the article - the average lab tech tests 150 samples in a month, and she could do 500. She just wanted non-stop praise, and really didn't seem to give hurting other people a second thought.

Oh my...

...

Acccording to the police report, a supervisor said he "never saw Dookhan in front of a microscope." Another chemist said "Dookhan would submit a cocaine sample, and it would come back heroin or vice versa."

She is also alleged to have lied under oath, claiming to have a master's degree in chemistry from the University of Massachusetts.

So the logical extreme is that ~11,000 people could be released or exonerated because she lied under oath about her qualifications and falsified tons of information, and some of those people could genuinely be dangerous...

What in god's fuck is her problem?

You know after reading that quote, what frigging idiot didn't look into her before this, 9 years? If one worker is tripling all the other workers, either your other workers are not doing there jobs very well or she is doing something wrong. We are talking Chemists here not baggers at a grocery store.

If there is other evidence the true criminals won't be let go.

Only convictions that will be overturned are those that rely heavily on the lab tests, as they should be.

I'd say multiple life sentences or the death penalty for her seems fair if she is guilty. Intentionally falsifying evidence in my opinion is a crime on par with murder and child molestation.

So she does 500 cases/month while typically a lab work can only do 150 cases/month.

How in the hell did it take so long before they thought something wasn't right.

While what she did is awful, the lab sure as hell seems negligent in this.

Op wants her thrown in jail with the men that she had imprisoned suggesting they may do more to her than just kill her that's what got him banned.

Really? I read that as not caring what sentence she gets, whether it be a couple of years or life. I think the best of people I guess.

Ok thanks for this. For the life of me I couldn't figure out why this thread was becoming a grave yard. I know gaf has had major bloodlust on child molesters in the past, but I didn't see the rape connection until you posted this.

Why did it take so long for anyone to figure this out? No one is 300% more efficient at his or her job than everyone else.

Indeed. Maybe a year for each false conviction. Still equals super-life but holy fuck. This just pisses me off.
