Non-Horror Halloween Movies

There are obviously tons of horror movies to watch on/around Halloween, but how about some lighter fare? I can't think of many movies off the top of my head and would welcome some suggestions. So far this year, I've watched:

The Halloween classic for me, I watch it every year.

I just watched this one for the first time this year. Light-hearted, fun characters, gets a little ridiculous at the end, but still the kind of movie I'm looking for.

I'm thinking that ParaNorman looks like it will fit the bill (haven't seen it yet...it stupidly came out before Halloween and comes out on DVD after Halloween...can't imagine who thought that was a good idea), and Nightmare Before Christmas sort of does as well. But I need more, GAF!

That Wikipedia list sure looks like it has some stinkers on it, but it did remind me of Frankenweenie, which I forgot existed! Some other suggestions in here look good as well, thanks. I knew GAF would come through!

Ernest Scared Stupid

Oh man, that scared the hell out of me when I was a kid.

Or christmas or helloween ... there are no other date in the year for this dude =P

And his most classic is a mix of both

Horror movie for the kids

How is Ernest Scared Stupid scary for kids? It's PG for christ sakes. If ABC can air it unedited, than it's safe for kids.

Is that the one with the troll who kidnapped children and turned them into statue things to create even more trolls? If so, then...yea.

I also recommend Hocus Pocus and Nightmare Before Christmas. I know a lot of folks are not fans of Corpse Bride, but I thought that movie was nice too.

Probably my favorite movie since childhood and I watch it every Halloween and Christmas.

I'd also add the Addams Family and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

there was one movie I watched so much as a kid it was animated, one of the main kid's friend was dead, dying something, at one point they talked about the Mexican day of the dead.

really wish I could remember the name of it.

Edit: found it, The Halloween Tree

I would have to say.....

Young Frankenstein - I watch this every year
Once Bitten
Clue
The Addams Family and Addams Family Values
Dracula Dead and Loving It
Translyvania 6-5000
Ghost Busters
Nightmare Before Christmas (more of a Late Nov. early Christmas film)

And just to re-live my childhood... The Halloween that Almost Wasn't

There are a few movies that I also watch... such as the various Vincent Price films among others.

But the one I watch each year is Young Frankenstein.
