I got drunk for the first time last night

I was in a bar with one of my friends and 10 of her friends. I ate almost nothing that day and I drank too much, too fast.

I ended up throwing up in the restroom (and having trouble even getting there), resting my head on the table, sleeping, while my friend's friends kept chatting, I asked a girl for her phone number (first time I did that too) while complimenting her. Some blonde girl was annoyed by my being drunk but then I annoyed her even more when I kept apologizing every 10 seconds. I wanted to become friends with those people but now they'll think of me as that stupid guy who got drunk (I deserved it though).

My vision was blurred and my head felt... really weird. Now I have a slightly bloodshot eye and I have no idea how that happened. Really, if that's what getting drunk feels like, I don't want to do it ever again.

So, do you remember the first time you got drunk?

Eh, if you want you can learn some self control and just get a nice buzz going without becoming a fall down drunk. Not everyone's cup of tea though.

I had a couple similar experiences when I was learning to drink. Now I'm a nice respectable drunkard... mostly.
 
Getting drunk is pointless and expensive...
But don't apologize profusely for a one time thing, just about everyone has gotten drunk. One apology and keep the conversation moving.

No it's what getting shitfaced drunk feels like. You can get moderately drunk and have a pleasant experience.
 
im 25 and never gotten drunk. i've always thought about it, but it kinda depressed me thinking about getting drunk with myself, or with my sister because i'd probably cry at her, jealously would also most likely rear its ugly head too.

she drinks but shes always super nice when she's drunk and compliments me a lot, lol. and hugs a lot too, funnily enough. o.o
 
First few times I became drunk, admittedly, freshmen year of college, I blacked out.....Not good.

Drinking is fine, but not to the point of blacking out. Once you "hit your line", everyone is different, just make sure you stop, get some stuff to eat, and drink a ton of water. Then, you'll be pretty buzzed/borderline drunk, but you'll feel fine the next morning.
 
First time I got drunk was when I was 14. Wedged myself between the couch and it's cushions and had girls sit on me while watching a movie. I was a fucking statue, total bliss, was amazing.
 
I'm straight edge... not really by choice it just comes naturally. I don't even like coffee but when I was with my dad (he's like a functioning alcoholic), I saw this really cute sake bottle and he bought it for me. I drank the whole bottle (microwaved some, poured some orange juice into it too). When I finished it I was really quiet and went to sleep. I don't really think that was drunk drunk though.

I'm kind of scared if I get plastered or high if I'll start saying some weird shit and all my inner demons will come out so maybe that's one of the reasons I don't touch the stuff.
 
You got shitfaced, not drunk. Not sure what you were drinking, but make sure you have some food in you next time and slow down.

my dad is 62 and im pretty sure he got like half-drunk once

stilll Im surprised at how in my experience you would have to be actively avoiding it in social environments. You'd need to go out of your way to not get drunk in my experience, but it happens

I've heard/read similar comments by other people so that's one reason why I wanted to try alcohol.
 
Yeah, was St Patrick's day in college. Got drunk, played video games and smoked shitty, cheap cigars with my roommates.

I get drunk nowadays and I just feel sleepy. I don't understand the mindset behind going out to the bars all the time once you're past your mid 20s. It gets old, man. Or maybe I'm just old...
 
I got drunk when I was 14 or 15, I was downing shits like a boss. Got in to a fight with my friend and won.
 
You learned a valuable lesson. Don't ever be one of those "hey guys, guys... i'm sooooo sorry. hey guys..." kind of drunks that apologize every 10 seconds. That's the most annoying kind of person on the planet. If you're drunk, just throw up on everything and everyone and act like it's your normal routine.
 
First time I got drunk was when I was 14 at a campfire in my older friend's back yard.
We had E&J brandy and coke and little red cups and sat around the fire. His sister was there (who was my ex) and I remember talking to her a lot. He wouldn't let her drink but she was just there for the fire and I think she was amused by my behavior. She tried to get everyone to do marshmallows but no one cared and I felt bad for her. I was sitting down the entire time while drinking, and when I first tried to stand up to my surprise I couldn't walk at all. I remember getting her to help me take my shirt off because I needed to dance and then I just ended up laying in the dirt and looking up at the stars.

first time I got blackout drunk I ended up in the hospital because some girl friend exaggerated quite a bit, I was fine really

was about 14-15 I think

I remember we were drinking Vodka and a friend was saying that we should "jump up and down to feel better"

First time I got drunk I was at a buddy's house Junior year of high school. I ended up skinny dipping in his pool while quoting Seinfeld and later spit in my other friend's eye.

Good times.
 
Lol that's not the average drunk experience. Like you said you didn't eat and you drank too much too fast.

Pace yourself next time and you'll have a much less embarrassing experience.
 
My first time was the end of my senior year of high school. Went to a party at a frat house at a nearby college. Shit was great, and I still love drinking. You'll learn your limits and keep from getting into the "drunk asshole" territory you explored last night. Nothing to be ashamed of, though, as long as you don't make a habit of it.
 
Yeah, first time was last day of freshman year. Was 15 at the time. we drank a bunch of Mad dog 20/20. I got too drunk, passed out in my friends room and puked all over myself and his room. I learned to limit my drinking real quick.
 
I've had drinks before but I've never been drunk. I'm 23. Just never got used to the taste. Well, I like wine. Just never have had more than 2 glasses/bottles/whatever at a time.
 
First time I got drunk was freshmen year of high school with a friend. We downed a bottle of E&J between the two of us and smoked a few bowls. Later that night we were puking our guts out and I awoke next morning on the bathroom floor. Pretty great night really.
 
im 26 been drunk many times before, but i did this same thing at my friends wedding about 3 months ago. I felt so bad i did that. I was under the table with just 4 drinks.

My first drunk was when I was 13 or so. Good times. Lots of puke.

Nowadays I still like getting drunk. It's fun! Also makes boring places less boring.

Haha the lesson from this should be to avoid Mad Dog at all costs.
