Evidence for 3DS release (Tyrone runs Nicalis):

That was fast.

Evidence for PC release (Playism releases Japanese indie games on PC):

I'm SO GLAD this has been revealed, because I've been sitting on this for some time. We're (we being Playism) so excited for Gero Blaster. This was meant to be a BitSummit announcement, so we were waiting until then to say something.
I work for Playism (in a localization capacity), which is involved in a version of the game. People can guess what version based on our past work.

Today at independent developer conference BitSummit in Japan, Cave Story creator Daisuke Amaya revealed a 2D iPhone action/platformer called Gero Blaster.

Starring a gun toting frog — "gero" being the sound a frog makes in Japanese — the game resembles side-scrolling shooters like Metal Slug and Contra; or more specifically Super Time Force, given the shared pixel art style. The plot sees main character Kaeru hunting for his kidnapped girlfriend on an "unknown planet."

According to a product page handed out at the event, Amaya is planning to release the game in May 2013 (though we don't know at the moment if that means for a U.S. or Japan-only release) and is currently looking into other platforms beyond iPhone. Another Amaya game, Ikachan, recently released on 3DS 10 years after its initial shareware PC version.

Never end up beating the final boss in Cave Story+ (i lost twice at its final form and put it aside "for a while", never to pick it up again).
Aside from that, i had a blast with that game, so i'll keep an eye out for this.

Hmm, it looks visually worse than Cave Story and I already don't like how many hearts there are. Not a good sign.

I took a break from my software development class to see if there was any news on GAF. Yup. This is my personal megaton (punch to the face). I'm getting all Nintendo/IOS/PC versions.

So I'm guessing Pixel will release this on iOS himself, Nicalis will publish on 3DS, and Playism will publish a PC version digitally?
