So this will be their new flagship I guess. What other ranges does SS offer that are still good phones, but smaller/not as pricey? Do they typically get released on a similar yearly cycle?

They will have a mini version of this out as well with a smaller screen size and worse hardware, but it will be significantly cheaper.

Glad I just bought the XZ and not waiting for this, yeah its gonna be a bit faster but at the price I'm paying I want a good looking phone with premium materials, it doesn't even have amoled display, the one feature that sets Galaxy products apart.
Pretty boring design. Samsung just plays it so safe with their designs, I don't think it's ugly, it's just really boring. It's a shame too, because the hardware inside is great.
It'll be kinda weird having aluminium on the sides and plastic everywhere else. A strange decision.
I think the Xperia Z and HTC One are stunning. Easily leading the way as far as designs go in phones at the moment.

That's not the final design. Samsung sends out different designs to different carriers in order to keep the leaks from the actual device happening. There are basically different GS4's out there that are mockups.

Not keen on the carbon fibre like patterning.
Samsung getting like Apple now IMO where they are afraid to change their hardware design. All their phones and phablet & tablets all look the same now and not in a good way.

I did not know that. Didn't even know S3 Mini is already out. It's odd they are even calling it a mini at this point.

Relatively to S3, it really is a Mini. Perception of size has changed over the years.
