Story
Thirty years ago a strange phenomena called a "spacequake" devastated the center of Eurasia, claiming the lives of at least 150 million people. Since then, smaller spacequakes plague the world on a irregular basis.
Shidō Itsuka, a seemingly ordinary high schooler, comes across a mysterious girl at the ground zero of a spacequake. He learns from his sister, Kotori, that she is one of the "Spirits" who are the real cause of the spacequakes, which occur when they manifest themselves in the world.
He also learns that Kotori is the captain of the anti-Spirit organisation Ratatoskr. She recruits him to make use of his mysterious ability to seal the Spirits' powers, stopping them from being a threat to mankind. However, there is a catch: to seal a Spirit, he must make her fall in love with him.
"I don't ask you to beat the spirit. Just let her fall in love with you and save the world."
I literally thought this show couldn't get worse but apparently it's possible. It's unfathomable how something like this can fucking exist. Firehawk12 calls SAO the worst anime show on the planet or w/e but this show makes SAO look like a fucking godsend. There's pandering. Then there's insulting the intelligence of the audience. This shittastic of a fucking show takes that to another level by making you so dropdead brainless in watching this show you have to wonder if you actually wasted time watching it or not. Oh wait. I did waste it. Fuck this show.
EDIT: The only redeeming elements in this show are the character designs for the heterochromia girl and the main girl and the fight scene in the OP. That's fucking it.
Date A Live makes me wish humanity never existed. It's fucking vitriol and vile shit. It must've spawned from the deepest pits of anime hell. Something that spawns once in a century or some shit. SAO makes me realize that online games are cool but crazy shit is always bound to happen. In this show it makes me realize what people's perception of dating are and how other save the world shenanigans are absolutely viable in doing so. Fuck it all.
30 years ago, these disasters called spacequakes wiped out alot of people, now in the present these spacequakes have been getting more frequent and the reason for these phenomenons are... girls. There are two ways to stop the spacequakes, kill them with Hyperdimension Neptunia style armour... or date them and make them fall in love with you.

I really don't know what I just watched really. Show opened up with destruction and then 1 second later it's a panty shot. The plot seems really crazy from
having a gullible sister that ends up being a total hard ass commander and one way to fight the spirits is to make them fall in love with you. I guess this a version of The World God Only Knows.
Will watch a couple of more episodes to see if sticks or not.
Started out as an anime stereotype and pretty much ended up as one. I thought maybe, JUST MAYBE they might do something "different" but then the flying scantily clad robot women showed up. It's basically like if Evangelion was less "srs business" and turned into a rom-com, minus the giant robots (so far). What's worse is I know I'm going to watch at least one more episode even after typing this all out. (Bottom line: It's dumb, but not the worst shit ever)
Date-A-Live 1 - Date-A-Live is a mediocre harem action series, and expect nothing more than that. The concept is unique, at least, though, so it's not the worst... I will keep watching. The governments' response is to try to kill them with soldiers (such as schoolgirls in formfitting flying suits, of course), but they're having no luck with that because the enemies' shields are near-impenetrable, so instead they take up a second plan, which this generic guy learns about at the end of S1:
Instead of killing them, date them! Hence the title of the series. So, the MC's goal now is to go date this girl, teach her about humanity, and over time make her into a normal person or something and not a dangerous threat to the Earth. Uh... sure, why not.
So far, there are three main girls, the "evil" girl, the girl in the military, and the MC"s sister. There is also a woman who works for the government who is around a lot. The MC's sister acts like a hopeless moeblob at home, and acts like a useless maybe-brocon, but later we learn that she has another side to her...
Actually she's the commander of the flying ship that the Japanese government is basing their anti-spacequake girl activities from in this region. Why a ~14 year old girl is the commander I have no idea, but she is.
This persona is completely different from her other one, so she talks seriously, berates her stupid brother, etc. If that's her real personality, then hopefully the whole "I like my brother" thing was just an act. Regardless it's obviously there because of the bizarre anime fascination with incest, but I think I've said enough times how incredibly stupid THAT is to have to say so again. But anyway, spacequake-causing girl is the female lead, so she, and likely more of her kind (I mean, will it really stop at just one of them?), are the focus.
So yeah, good luck, staff... helping a generic bland harem lead type guy like this successfully date girls, even weird ones like these, won't be easy. Overall this is obviously a pretty terrible show, but one episode in it's fun bad, not bad-bad, so I will watch more.
Ending: Sucked completely, probably the worst one I've heard in a while.
Haven't watch any PV's but I'm pretty much satisfied with the voices for Shidou, Reine, Kotori, and Tohka. Episode itself was mixed, really thankful I've been reading the novel too or else I might have been a lot more disappointed and probably would have dropped it by now. I do love that song that played when Tohka appeared, hope it returns again when she comes back next time.

Someone needs to make an edit of Call of Duty 4's intro and add in panty shots after "Fifty thousand people used to live here... now it's a ghost town."
If the show's covering vols 1-3 she's the last boss so it'll be towards the end. If it's vols 1-4 then in the early second half. Someone who's actually read the light novels could answer this better.

Basically. She's introduced at the beginning of volume 3, so it'll at least be the last third unless they move events around or make things longer or shorter.
Volume 4 is a better stopping point than volume 3 so I hope they go that far.
The three main Date A Live websites (for the light novels, anime and PS3 game) have all put up special wallpapers available for one day only. It's for an anniversary of something or other.
Some of the shit they do is kinda out there (date sim type decision making from the control room) but I still find it entertaining. Found a random stream for ep 9 and shit gets even more interesting

Origami then gets Kurumi to send her back in time to five years ago so that she can cause a time paradox
Origami fights Phantom, the creator of the Spirits and alleged murderer of her parents, in the past but because Phantom's too fast, she instead causes a stable time loop by accidentally frying her parents to ashes
Origami goes Brain A Deaderbecomes a Heartless is consumed by darkness because of her creating the time loop, returns to the present to announce the apocalypse
Kurumi sends Shidou back in time to cancel the apocalypse with timey-wimey
