I was on the internet....and I came across this thing called 8-bit music, where people take popular/famous music and play them as if it was coming out of a NES. I can't keep thinking how cool some of them would be for being used in retro indie games. Here are some examples:

Metallica - Orion
Don Omar - Danza Kuduro
LMFAO - Sexy and I know it
Haddaway - What is Love

There are many, many more. Make sure you select 240p for the proper lo-fi experience, sounds more authentic that way. I would really love to see this in 8-bit inspired games like Scott Pilgrim, etc but I presume the rights to them would be expensive.

Not sure if you guys have heard of The Reign Of Kindo, but they turned an entire one of their albums (titled: This is What Also Happens) into an 8-bit form. It's amazing.

Every single song sounds like it could be in a game.

Some of my personal favorites:

You could basically put Doom's entire soundtrack on that list. id software basically ripped off a good number of heavy metal songs and put them in MID format. And it was glorious.

It's more 16 bit than anything, but I guess you could play them with a 8 bit Adlib if you wanted...

I feel like most of these fail to capture the essence of what made the original songs good and sound soulless and empty. Especially that System of a Down cover.

Compared to things like 8-bit Lebowski by Chipocrite, anyways, You should give that a listen. Awesome jams like Hotel California, and they're done right.
