I'm a sucker for top down isometric racers, they're like my kryptonite. Rock n Roll Racing on the SNES was one of my favorite racers of the 16-bit generation.

But I don't hold much hope for this one, and I suspect these guys will get a cease and desist order from Activision-Blizzard's lawyers before pledging even ends. They're also using unlicensed music as well (Though I suspect part of the funding would probably go to acquiring licenses).

Shame, the game looks pretty decent in motion, and the ability to shift between behind the car and isometric overhead viewpoints is pretty cleaver. It makes me wonder why they don't just change the name and turn this into a spiritual successor?

I remember I used to play the original all the time and loved it when I was a kid... but this looks uninspired. The unlicensed part is not giving any hope either.

Crazy looks pretty faithful, but showing the behind the car view takes the magic away and makes it look boring.

Yeah, plus the overuse of bloom in the behind the car perspective really kills it, and not in a good way. I do like the vehicle physics present in the isometric view though. The art style could use some work.

How is this even remotely legal? Blizzard is going to sue them into another time zone. Also music sucks.

Not going to lie, I'm very very wary of "flexible funding" campaigns on Indiegogo, especially when whatever they're trying to sell is based on an IP that they don't own (and is owned by one of the largest software publishers).

Something about the ability to take people's money without being obligated by terms of service to actually deliver a tangible product just seems way more wrong than what kickstarter runs (although, with the Susan Wilson thing, who knows?).

In my opinion it'd be fine if they want to release the thing for free and ask for donations under a different banner than using the RRR name. Otherwise, while their intentions might be good, it seems like a nostalgic cash grab to me.

Looking at the developer's comment section on the indiegogo page, they are kind of hoping that Blizzard won't notice this unauthorized sequel/ remake or care that it exists. Though by the looks of it, they are not expecting to sell this for money, I guess the funding will be compensation for making the game.

But is it has been proven to us time and time again... these remakes usually get shut down.
