War for the Overworld (Kickstarter) "Bedrock Beta" launching today on Steam

For anyone who backed WFTO and paid enough for the Bedrock Beta tier, you should have a Steam key by now which you can use to register the game. It's currently sitting in my library as "not yet released" but that should change within a couple of hours going by the email I received before.

Hey folks,

We have some somber news... and we know you’re going to hate hearing yet again...
We’re delaying the Bedrock Beta... for a few more hours.

Steam keys will be available to our backers soon through the Humble Store, a content distribution platform from the folks behind the Humble Indie Bundle.

Please remember that while we are calling this period “The Bedrock Beta” the current mechanics and assets make this more of a pre-alpha in terms of what is available. It is very much the bedrock of the game.

We did our best to squash the major bugs, but we wouldn’t suggest hanging up your bug net just yet, there are a few lurking in the tunnels you are about to explore — more details below on how to post feedback and bug reports.

How to Get Your Steam Key

Go to this page
Type in the email address attached to your Kickstarter or Paypal account (whichever you used to back us)
You’ll be emailed a link to your War for the Overworld product page
In a few hours a Steam key will be added to this page which will allow you to download the beta
We'll post an update later today once the keys are available!
If you have any trouble with this process, please visit this thread.

The Maps:

Sandbox: Tons of gold and huge amounts of space await you in Sandbox — dig as you please and create a beautiful (hideous?) dungeon for your minions to call home.
Goodly Conflict: A good amount of space with a fortress in the center of the map filled with heroes — you’ll have to fight your way through their army in order to fill your coffers with the rich gold seams that they jealously guard.
Parmesan Cheese (Coming soon): A wild Underlord (Steve)* dares you to invade his dungeon with whatever ragtag group of minions you can muster up — make him regret his challenge.
*Steve’s isn’t too smart (his AI is rudimentary at best), but his minions will certainly be worthy foes.

The Stuff:

Rooms: Lair, Treasury, Slaughterpen, Archive, Foundry
Spells: Summon Worker, Possession
Minions: Blood Imp, Gnarling, Gargoyle, Augre, Cultist
Heroes: Firebreather, Juggernaut
Game Systems: Digging, Fortifying, Gold & Mana, Portals
Unit Systems: Hunger, Sleep, Basic Combat (no abilities yet)

I received the email about the delay of "a few hours" nearly 3 hours ago now, so we should be able to download and play it within the next couple of hours hopefully. Looking forward to it!
