Gamestop might be doing a promo for PS+

My friend who works at Gamestop got this email from On.Playstation.com (a reward site for employees) and forwarded it to me.

Can anyone confirm this?

Before we jump into the gaming content for PlayStation Plus this week, we wanted to let you guys in on a deal weÂ’ve got cooking for new or existing PS Plus members.

Exclusive to GameStop stores, buy a 1 year PS Plus membership and get $10 in PSN cash to use on the PlayStation Store! YouÂ’ll get it right when you buy the 1 year Plus membership at GameStop; howÂ’s that for instant gratification? You have until June 20th to take advantage of this deal. So whether youÂ’ve been thinking about checking out PS Plus, or are an Instant Game Collection vet, youÂ’ll want to hop on this deal.

With that said, weÂ’ve got a ton of stuff to cover this week including two (two!) games coming to the Instant Game Collection: the addictive puzzler Germinator, and the wonderful pinball experience that is Pinball Arcade. YouÂ’ll also find new Ultimate Editions on sale, which deliver complete editions of big titles you may have missed with all of their DLC at a reduced price; especially so for PlayStation Plus members. So letÂ’s get right to it!

Seems like a good deal... for Gamestop employees.

An extra $10 for me won't be a problem. Guess now is a better time then ever to get a year subscription, especially since Hitman Absolution is going to be free on it.

Smart of Sony to finally do this. PS+ is a really good bargain and gets customers willing to pay a monthly price for online features, they've just done a terrible job actually advertising it.

They've been doing this for a while I think.

I bought an annual PS+ subscription in March and got a $10 credit back.

Wouldn't that probably just be a part of the spend $50 on PSN get $10 back promo they were doing?
