The Crew (Racing Game) Announced by Ubisoft

Looks interesting I suppose, but I'm already good for next gen racing games at this point... the density of the world is impressive though.

Also, someone on that dev team really likes Glitch Mob.

First game i've seen (maybe Dead Rising too) where it looks like the next gen has opened up new possibilities. Really impressive.

Looks special

Huge mistake to run that trailer and then have a live gameplay demo. The fucking game is not even an 1/8 of the visual treat that they used in the trailer. It honestly looks like every other racing game from the last decade. Huge arrow lights leading you down a path.

Real talk, I'd rather race in GTA V I think.

this is why I hate CG trailers.

the premise of the game sounds cool, but it does seem like there are too many racing games.

in fact, there are TONS of PS4/Xbone games. I'm surprised.

but holy shit if the entire of the united states is your 'map'.

This type of game is interesting to me. I really enjoyed Test Drive Unlimited's take on the island of Oahu having lived there before.

I wonder how big this is scale-wise though. Or does it just have certain cities with their own suburbs and wilderness areas and then you load into the next "city zone"?

It makes me wonder though what type of game could be created if there was a way to parse the Google Maps and street-view information and have some heavy duty computer start chewing through it and rendering it from a set of premade assets to try to piece it together as close as possible to real life.

Graphically, it looks great, but racing games already look pretty good. The more impressive thing here is the gameplay and the scope. Reminds me a lot of Burnout Paradise, which I enjoyed during the brief time that I owned a PS3. My only reservation is that it's almost hard to grasp the scope they are talking about. Obviously they've modeled several self-contained areas around the USA, and it seems like they have tons of gameplay possibilities. My worry would be that maybe some aspects won't be up to par with others, but for now I'm impressed.

I don't care about racing games at all, but this one caught my attention. Looked like great fun.

Gameplay over graphics any day btw, this gen, next-gen, any gen.

The trailer made me VERY hyped.

Then we saw the actual game, hype died.

The physics just looked terrible. I mean why not just copy and paste the driver: SF physics, would be a lot better.

Graphically is was meh. If they just showed the game I would have been fine but coming from that CGI trailer it was quite painful ( I knew the trailer was CGI, but still...)

I mean it looks ok, very cautious because of the physics that look pretty bad ( the way the cars move into the corners, looks awkward)

Some modes looks cool and like the open world/ across the US aspect though.

Will be keeping an eye on it.

If it lives up to the hype, I can see myself getting it. Xbox One & PS4 only right? Will put it in my column for games that could lead me to a PS4

What's with the negative comments? This was one of the few games that really got me hyped for next gen. Are people really going to complain if a game uses the extra power of next gen for more gameplay possibilities rather than better graphics?
