The game is made by a man named Mike Gale, not sure what he's done before.

The initial goal is $60k, but it will come to Wii U if it reaches $105k, and as of now it's a $33k with 22 days left, not too shabby.

I have gathered all the information I need to be able to tell you: "Yes, Soul Saga will be getting to the WiiU!". Well, if we hit the stretch goal, that is! If you would like a WiiU key, please add $10 to your pledge and message me! There is a contact button near the Cake's Face at the top of this page.

I'm kinda against the idea of calling it a JRPG if it's not made in Japan by at least a Japanese person, that's just me though, hence I put "like" in the title.

Granted, it's not too bad of a style, he does know how to do Anime it looks like. He does have a Japanese composer and theme song writer on board, plus a couple of veteran voice actors.

Well I hope it makes it, needs polish obviously but I like how it looks!

First 2 replies are already port begging..smh

I'd be down to kick in for something like this, I'm really loving the art direction.

Wow, I wonder how he got such big name VAs :o

I do hope it ends up on the Vita. ;_; It looks fun.

And he is totally talking to Shahid about getting it on the Vita/PS4 so... totally not port begging.

Thanks for the thread. I hadn't heard of this before.

I've always thought there was a dangerous lack of PS-era JRGPs these days. I actually found the blocky graphics endearing. Only recent one I can think of is Nostalgia, and that wasn't amazing or anything.

Hope this reaches the stretch goal. JRPGs are seriously perfect for the gamepad.

Looks like it'd be a nice game to have on the Vita. The design for Elise kinda reminds me of Curly from Cave Story (in a good way).

I hope Shahid stays on top of this.

Hey look, another game being made for the cost of a single Skull Girls character :/ and people said I was crazy for calling out that team ("2D sprites cost more!")

As others have said, I'll pledge if there'll be a Vita version. It certainly looks promising so far, I liked the pitch video and the combat system sounds interesting too.

I was a bit worried when I saw the "Episode 1" subtitle, but apparently it will be a 20 hour game. The "Episode" thing makes it sound like a small episodic release, so I think they'd be better off without it to be honest (just call the next one "Soul Saga 2" instead).

I'm interested, but the game play on that video wasn't impressive, if you can even call it game play. No idea what it will play like.

Looks... ok? I feel like I need more background on these people I'm supposed to hand over money to.

Wow, strech goals with the game even reaching its initial goals.
This is arguably how stretch goals should always work.

"X costs Y, so if we get an extra Y dollars we can now do X"

One of the stretch goals is to make "Episode 1" into just "Soul Saga" so it'd be double the game.

I guess the plan if they don't hit the max stretch goal is to make an episode 1 and episode 2... hopefully we hit the last stretch goal.

Hand drawn animation, man...

After seeing the pitch video and reading a bit about the game, the project feels like it could fall into the trap of being too inspired for its own good, ie lacking an identity of its own and instead turning into something generic and predictable. I hope I'm wrong. And if I'm not, I guess some people like those kinds of JRPGs as well. In any case, I thought the music was pretty cool at least.

It is kinda hilarious that he has the Wii U platform support way further down the list than VA work.

That is a misplaced priority.

Nice that they're letting you do add-ons like the art book without having to have a super-high pledging level. Wish more people on KS would do that.

Isn't that usually how Kickstarters organize their stretch goals? Support for other platforms tends to come after goals that improve upon the game itself (more characters/voice acting/better music/whatever).

It's always nice to see a la carte options. Though I understand why other Kickstarters might not allow it. (Limited production quantity and so on, I guess?)

Hope its gets to PSN, if not I'll check the PC version out. Looks neat. Though the ingame models of the characters look way to chibi style for me.

If they are making a PC surely they can port it to the ps4/xbox one right without too much difficulty? Maybe the dev kits are expensive, but having extra goal would make me pledge and many others I am sure.

I just saw this yesterday. While I still don't have a Wii U, it would be great to get that stretch goal. Although the creator said that it might happen even if it doesn't hit the goal, just that it will be of lower priority if it doesn't

Nice, the Vita needs more English RPGs. Will back if the Vita version works out for the devs.

Looks brilliant. Amazing that the theme song is sung by a vocaloid, it sounds so real!

Edit: Misread something, it may actually be a real person who sung it... can't find any details on the singer. Anyway, the theme song sounds great. :D

I'm a fool and my money is easily parted for every. single. KickStarter. game. that. has. WiiU. as. a. stretch. goal.

I cannot help myself.

BACKED.
