Neither the publisher, Devolver, nor Dennaton are involved in our film, but we want to honor their enthusiasm and talent.

Why do people keep doing this? Maybe Dennaton will be cool about it, but why not just come up with your own thing?

Flexible Funding.

Do not donate. They will get a cease and desist notice and you will not get your money back.

I'm all for fan films, but this is pretty bullshit if they are asking for cash and the creators aren't involved.

Screw this, don't charge people for your fan film and them call them donations to exploit the loophole.

So...not affiliated in any way with Hotline Miami and are just trying to capitalize on a popular IP at the time? I also bet it's release will coincide with Hotline Miami 2 releasing since they will knock out this short-film in a weekend.

100% PASS on this since it's shameful.

Haha 1 out of 2 ain't bad. I had to study Drive at university so I'm not just hating it for the sake of it. I don't 'hate' it either I just think it's rubbish.

Preposterous! That's like having to study the Great Gatsby in high school and hating it..That book is amazing!

Someone explain to me why Indiegogo shouldn't remove flexible funding entirely. I don't get it.

$99k/$100k funded. Project fails, no one gets money, rocks fall, everyone dies. Basically, hard and fixed budget goals aren't always a perfect fit for every project. Some projects will work on their product even if zero money comes in, so in that situation the crowdfunding is less of a "pledge money to get this project off the ground" and more of a "pledge money to show your support for this project". Sure, flexible funding projects can be scams, but there can also be scam fixed funding projects that set low goals to make sure they get some money.

How about allowing flexible funding but don't collect the money until the campaign is over. That way, assholes like this will get their project shut down before they can rip anyone off and the legitimate stuff stays.

Yeah, I got all excited about it until I saw that. Just feels like they're riding on coattails for attention. They could've said "inspired by Hotline Miami" but called it something else and I would've considered investing.

Edit: Oh god I just watched the video on their page and it looks like they missed the point of the game entirely. Biker looking for his missing wife? Jacket an amnesia riddled "badass?" What the fuck. Tone is way off, too. They'd be better off doing their own thing.

Drive meets Scarface meets GTA:Vice City. That'd be a cool idea for a video game. Also, maybe a pig head.

This honestly looks like it could be pretty awesome but I would never donate unless the creators gave their backing and allowed it.
