ABOUT

Everyone has a secret... and Olivia Pope has dedicated her life to protecting and defending the public images of the nation's elite and keeping those secrets under wraps. Revered and feared at the same time, Olivia, a former communications director to the President of the United States, left the White House to open her own prominent crisis management firm. She is hoping to start a new chapter in her life—both professionally and personally—but she can't seem to completely cut ties with her past. Slowly it becomes apparent that her dysfunctional staff, who specialize in fixing other people's lives, can't quite fix
the ones closest at hand-their own. The creator and executive producers of Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice delve into the
behind-the-scenes machinations of a mesmerizing top crisis manager in ABC's highly anticipated new drama, Scandal.

Olivia's accomplished staff, who would follow her anywhere and do whatever it takes to save someone's reputation, include Harrison Wright, a slick litigator; Huck, hacker extraordinaire; investigator Abby Whelan, don’t let that smile and red hair fool you, she’s as sharp as they come; and Quinn Perkins, the new young woman in the office who is in awe of Olivia, but is initiated in a trial by fire on her very first day on the job.

As Olivia Pope and Associates fights for the reputations and sometimes lives of their clients, Olivia's former boss, President Fitzgerald Grant, the First Lady Millicent Grant, the President’s Chief of Staff, Cyrus Beene, and the Assistant State Attorney David Rosen are never far from her beat. Her clients aren't the only ones with secrets, though; surprisingly, she may need to exercise all her damage control skills on her own behalf.

Catch up on the first two seasons on Netflix

Will hope for less Olivia and Fitz on screen together, despite knowing this is a fool's dream.

Also, why are they in the rain? Those pictures look so dopey. lol

My GF just started watching this and it's much better than the other crap she watches. Except for that part with Scarface from Half Baked torturing that guy. That almost made me laugh out loud.

I binge-watched and got caught up since everybody with a social media handle kept gushing about it. I can see why. So effing good.

I'm just worried what a whirlwind season 2 was with pacing that the writers might have already thrown everything including the kitchen sink already. But Grey's Anatomy is still running and still manages to surprise.

I love how this show fluxes between Olivia and Grant being horrible for each other, and being soul mates since time's beginning.

Guy is a fucking creep, and was insanely disturbing in season one.

My problem was that the insane conspiracies and case of the week are where the show shines, while watching Liv and Fitz either be lovely dovey or insane and creepy wore thin. I prefer if they never talked to each other ever again, but after the way last season ended, that ain't happening. lol

And season one? I still think Fitz is creepy. We're talking about a man who uses the secret service to randomly snatch up his mistress. Dude is disturbed and needs help. haha

I don't know if there's a more fun show on TV to watch. I am SO excited for this season.

Also, thanks for tuning in, guys. Season 1 and 2 never got OTs so I'm sure how this will go. Hopefully people post.

Nice OT ivy. The rain promo pics are cool.

Oh, I want to make it clear, I hate Fitz with EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING. I hope a myriad of horrible things happen to him, and Olivia leaves that loser in the gutter. (Cyrus is pretty damn awful too.)

Scottish Lost Guy's character is up there with Mark Brandanowicz for characters on shows I enjoy whose presence wasn't bad, but who I'm often sort of surprised to remember existed.

Hyped for a new season, especially since last season means no more secret relationship drama between Olivia and Fitz. At the absolute least, it's public knowledge now. Hoping for a successful Fitz assassination this year. Maybe in the season 2A finale? Early Christmas present?

I'm going to go ahead and link this NPR piece from May on how Fitz is just the worst of all time ever.

Olivia should dump Fitz. Mellie should dump Fitz. Everybody should dump Fitz. People who have never met Fitz should dump Fitz. White House tour groups should be brought through his office for the sole purpose of dumping him at the end of the visit. Strangers should be encouraged to queue up to dump him in more and more interesting and violent ways, like the "Calm down, get a hold of yourself!" line in Airplane!

In any case, so ready for more cliffhangers and shocking twists.

Fixed some of the problems in the OP. Sorry -- I copied an email and did it all on my phone, didn't see that there were some formatting issues.

Good to know im not the only True #Gladiator in this bitch.

My family and I have been basically RELIGIOUSLY watching this show since it came out.

This is the #1 show in tv right now.

Scandal-twitter sure is an angry lot. Say one cross word about this show, and they're on you like dogs. Hope my friends don't take my gentle ribbing on the show tonight the wrong way. lol

hope this season dials the frequency of fitz/olivia encounters back a bit.

We're both hoping for this. I'd bet money we're going to disappointed.

This dude talks like a supervillain.

Edit: Episode over. A decent premiere. I know that cliffhangers are this show's thing, but that one was pretty unnecessary.

Random Thoughts:

- Mellie is still one of the more interesting characters. I don't get why the fanbase hates her so.

- Harrison still sucks.

- Fitz is still a moron.

- Liv's dad has all the potential to be an awesome character.

- They threw that poor woman under the bus tho.

Somehow Fitz is even worse than he was before.

Everything about him reeks of such deep seeded entitlement. He treats Olivia like a child.

Sally Langston is the wooooorst. Mostly because she's a True Believer of everything that's wrong with Congress right now.

I wish that when Olivia opened her safe, it was just the biggest fucking bottle of white wine.

Because most fanbases can't handle the relationship nuance between Mellie and Olivia. It's black or white, us versus them.

Look at this bitch! She's through the rain! Gay icon, coming through!

Subscribed.

Decent opener. I freaking love Mellie. She's really the only one that can give Olivia a run for her money on the show!

Good premiere. The face off between Olivia and her father at the beginning was fantastic. Fitz is still the worst, Mellie and Cyrus remain my two favorite things about the show. I always hated Sally but I thought she was kind of okay in this episode. Although we only have a taste of it so far, season seems to be headed in a good direction, should be fun as hell. There might be better shows on television but fuck if this isn't near the top of the list of what I look forward to the most each week.

Scandal's back y'all!

Sally and Mellie are easily my favorite characters.

I hate Fitz though. I hate the weakness he reveals in Olivia. And sometimes, I hate Olivia for being so weak when he is involved.

"...Couldn't we just kill another intern? ... A bad one. The worst one."

I love it. Good premiere. Can't wait to see how far down the rabbit hole we can go. Mellie rules. Fitz drools.

Man that scene between Olivia and her father at the start was so good. Just eating them lines. Nom nom.

"Raised your skirt and opened your knees"

Fitz seemed like he might have grown a bit in this episode. What with all the taking responsibility for his actions and whatnot. But then he went right back to bring a creepy, possessive, delusional asshole and revealed all the previous taking responsibility was part of his master plan to ride into the sunset with his mistress.

I hope Mellie burns him to the ground.

I'm glad that they cast someone for that role that can chew the scenery as well as all the other major players on this show.

Oh, you think James Spader in The Blacklist is having fun? Try Kerry Washington, Bellamy Young, and Jeff Perry in an operatic political serial.

When he was slowly walking towards Olivia? Sooooooooooooooooooooooo creepy.

He's so possessive of her.

Wild return. I could not believe
falsely accusing the press secretary
.

It's good that the show regularly reminds you every single person on it is a ruthless bastard, the ones you root for just as much as the ones you don't.
