PS4/Xbox One Best Buy Midnight Launch Details

if you pre-ordered either system, you do not need to attend a midnight opening in order to get your system, games, and accessories; pre-orders will be held for eight days following launch. If your order is not picked up during that window, though, it will be canceled. Whether you pre-ordered in-store or through BestBuy.com and chose in-store pickup, your pre-order is only good for the store you selected -- it will do you no good if you go to a different store.

"We are anticipating lines to form at many of our stores so we recommend that you arrive early," a Best Buy Q&A reads. "The processing of pre-orders will begin up to 2 hours before midnight and will begin with the front of the line and continue in the order that people arrived. While your pre-order may be processed before midnight, no consoles will be given to customers until after 12:01 a.m."
"Limited quantities" of each console will be available for those without a pre-order in addition to the allotment of systems for those with one. Tickets for these non-pre-order systems will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis for however many systems are available. This process will begin two hours before the midnight launch, and there will be a limit of one per customer.

Just used a couple of vacation days for the 15th and the 18th............ I have positioned myself for disappointment............ but I will put forth a valiant effort to obtain a PsQuad .....haha.
 
Kinda wished my PS4 preorder was through Gamestop/Best Buy instead of Amazon. I love midnight launches.
 
Have one coming from Dell, but might check out my local BB and see if I can get one then sell the one from Dell to my buddy.

Am I the only one who still thinks you'll be able to walk into a store and grab one off the shelf? It might take a little bit of hunting but I still think people will be able to find them relatively easily depending on where they live.
 
Going to a midnight release of a console launch is like having a big ass target on you lighting up saying "rob me pls"

I'll probably just stay on after my shift that Thursday and pick my PS4 up. Good that we finally got around to processing pre-orders prior to midnight.
 
Fun times! I pre-ordered my Xbox One there in hopes of not having to wait in line, but because I have zero patience and I'm as giddy as a 10 year old when it comes to video games, I'll be in line as soon as I see people forming it. The best part about all this, is that prior to the Xbox One launch I'll be waiting in line at Gamestop for my PS4 pre-order for the same exact reasons!

For those of you who have the patience, will power, whatever, to wait until the next day to pick it up after work...I don't know how you do it! LoL I would have ordered from Amazon but there is no way I could stand waiting for the shipment to arrive. The horror!!! I wouldn't be able to sleep!!!

So exciting to be a gamer this month!!!
 
Yea I dont have a preorder cause I have alot of credit and cash on my xbox one at gamestop I hope gamestop have a few extra for me at midnight loke they said but imma go to best buy and check too.
 
Most of my consoles were either gifts or purchased well after launch so this will be my first preorder midnight launch event. I'm pretty excited and nervous at the same time. I've seen videos of mobs and read stories about people getting mugged so hopefully it goes smoothly.

I have mine pre-ordered at Best Buy, I wanna be the guy this time playing his console in nearby while everyone else suffers in line.

(Thats what happened for me at the PS3 event at Best Buy : A guy brought a tv and was playing his PS3 while waiting in line with his friends.)

The $1000 in one day prospect of re-selling brought out some crazies for the PS3 event. Everything was fine for mine but some kid did throw over a trashcan to slow people down. Bunch of savages.

I would suggest not falling asleep : During the Wii midnight release a guy from Circuit City came out at a random time to hand vouchers out and people rushed him destroying the line - and all order- previously established. I lost my spot by resting my eyes, while a drunk friend who showed up hours after me got his.
Damn.

I think it's just still a big unknown. We'll see how crazy it'll get but I hope everyone who wants one of the consoles will get it.

Sounds good if I decide to keep my xbone preorder I will just walk in Friday morning instead of fighting the rush at midnight.
 
I've done many midnight launches for consoles and never had a problem at any of them. While my main preorder is at Gamestop for both PS4 and Xbone, I'm still have ones preordered at best buy as a backup. So it's good to know they'll hold my preorder until the next day.

You can make flOw or Flower your last game. Wake up in the morning, take a bite of your cold Whataburger, pick up the controller, and keep playing.
 
I have a preorder at both amazon and BB. I'm still going for the midnight release, why wouldn't you want to go? This happens every 6-8 years!!
 
I am one of those without a Pre-Order. Do I feel confident I will be able to just walk in and pick up a system on November 15th? Nope. We will see though.

I have been fighting between the PS4 and R9 280X for my Christmas gift, but with my recent play of the PS4. Man it would be nigh impossible to not get it now.

I actually know quite a few people having to lineup at stores on launch night, because they don't have the credit cards or other means to purchase via Amazon. They have to deal with cold, hard cash as their only means to gain access to a next gen console.

For the ones I was able to help, I put their system on my credit card, and am having it delivered to their house.
 
:D So happy I have my Best Buy pre-order. Feel fortunate

Until I walked out the store and realized the date said 11/30 and I was on second ship D: Feels bad man
