I like how it says 2014 AND beyond so we are probably going to get a glimpse of 2014 titles and maybe a few 2015 titles as well!!!can't wait!! it is time to showcase the big titles instead of the indies even though i am looking forward to quite a few of them especially transistor, rime and witness
 
It'll be 5am here where i live when it starts. I have to leave for work at 7:30am. Seems i have to get up earlier that day :)
 
When I saw this thread, I envisioned a map of the US, initially dark. Then as the first few users start signing into PSN on their PS4s, lights start to shine. We can watch the map as more and more users log into PSN as all the PS4s go live. That would be cool :)

I'm going to watch this on TV and then go get my pre-order. I'm not the type to stand outside way early, and I was the first PS4 pre-order at my store, so I figure leaving at 11:00 for a midnight launch isn't that much different than just leaving at midnight. Either way I'll be behind a bunch of people. So, yeah, watch this on my beautiful TV, get all hyped up, then go to the store. PS4 heaven.

Yes it is. There will also be
Dark Cloud 3, Legend of Dragoon 2, Suikoden 2 Remake, and an open world Streets of Rage with 4 player co-op.

If it's not Suiko VI I'm not a big fan.

But seriously Sony alone has 20 more titles to reveal, and since ten of them WON'T be coming out until 2015 or so, they've got plenty to fill an hour presentation with. (Note: I'm not insinuating they'll tell us about all of them, or even most.)

The way it's being phrased now I could see them maybe showing us games in a calendar like format, from February to December. Most old, but a few new, and then near the end a two minute trailer that's like, "And beyond..." and we get snippets of some games that we'll see in 2015-2016.

Exactly. It makes sense to get a big announcement or two out there right before the first day of your new system. It creates a ton of chatter.
 
Totally looking forward to seeing people get a PS4 while I have to wait another two weeks.
 
I like the idea of this. Turn it into a broader event, not just for the buyers there.

Has anyone launched a system like this before, with game announcements simultaneously? The right announcements could give a very timely hype boost.

It is quite interesting. I liken it to that awful part of FFVII Advent Children (well it's all awful, but whatever) when Cloud is jumping up toward Bahamut or whatever and he gets a super sonic boost from each of his buddies

this is Sony giving themselves a super sonic boost into their generational transition.
 
Remember where it all began? That legendary thread that was building up towards 20th February, A DAY WHICH WILL LIVE IN INFAMY! Well maybe not, but it was a great thread and had about 9 million Kaz gifs.

And here we are, so close to the actual release of these things, the time of speculation and info gathering will be over, and the time of actually playing will begin.
 
The Order 1886, Infamous SS, MLB the show in-game trailers are all that I was expecting. But now, with the multiple hints at the unveiling of games covering 2014 and beyond, I am not so certain anymore. Sony Santa Monica next gen title reveal maybe?
