Official Latin America PS4 Waiting/Launch Thread - Taxes be damned!

Even if we share the same launch date as our European friends, I felt we needed a separate thread for all Latin American members to share their PS4 launch stories.

Mexico here. Preoredered a PS4 at Best Buy and I'm picking it up tomorrow morning. It seems not a single Best Buy in Mexico is doing a midnight launch for the PS4, while Gameplanet and Gamers will :( The final PS4 price is around $573 USD (taxes included), so I think we did ok in that regard.

I'm debating wether to go full digital this gen. For reference here is $59 USD for a digital copy vs $76 for a physical. I'll be getting AC4 and Battlefield 4 tomorrow as well.

What about you, guys? What are you picking up? Midnight launch?
 
Brazil here, i´ll be in the US from december 11th thru 30th. I´ll have the daunting task of finding a PS4 post thanksgiving.

I´ll be with a car and going from Florida to Washington DC and New York, so hopefully GAF will help me find one.

As for games i think i´ll just get NBA 2K14 this time, with Infamous next year.
 
Chile here. I don't gonna buy a PS4 yet cause the only game i've got interested is Resogun. Waiting for some time when it got my attention (and money lol)

Suggested price here: USD $657 app w/ taxes.

In Colombia, still figuring out if I want to import (a friend is coming from the states next week) or if I want to wait a few months. Price here is a ripoff, but nothing compared to Brazil.
 
We have US PS4s here going around on grey market for about U$1200 - the official, MSRP price is U$~1700. Insane markups be damned, it's sold out in a lot of places and anything Sony puts on stores tomorrow will sell out as well.

I'll just wait til this whole insanity is done. Might take a few months...

Not if you go to a Gamers Outlet store. :P You have one in your state?

A friend is quite bummed because the Gameplanet where he pre-ordered his console isn't doing a midnight launch, haha.
 
It's going for S/.1899 (around $687) here in Peru. I might wait a year or so to get it though (needs games) and if I do, I will most likely have someone bring me one from the US. I hate the ridiculous markup we get for most products.

There's a Gamers Outlet here in Guadalajara, but it's far from home and work. The $50-$100 pesos I'll save buying my games there are not worth it.

Sucks for your friend. I had a couple really bad experience with preorders at Gameplanet (Being TLOU the last one) that I foolishly thought Best Buy would have a better midnight launch experience that Gameplanet. I ended up getting nothing :(

* FIFA 14

And tonight I go for a PS4 + Killzone: Shadow Fall

And adding: Contrast, Resogun, Flower, Trine 2... and all the F2P digital.

Well I didn't want to deal with any retail store here so I decided to import mine from amazaon, ps4-killzone-psn+ bundle

Wouldn't you have to deal with the horrible import taxes? What about warranty? That's what kept me from importing my Vita.
 
Should get mine next week ... or tomorrow if the SONY email is to be believed.

tonight I'm going to Zmart to get my PS4+extra controller+Battlefield 4 for free :D

and my boss give me the tomorrow free so I have 3 days to play :D!!!
 
Good thread, just yesterday it was announced that it'll be available officially here (Uruguay) on Friday, which is nice because there hasn't been an official console release since the N64.

The bad news is the price, obviously... it'll be USD1199, and the games will retail for USD149
 
I bought it at Liverpool (retail stores in Mexico) when they had a sale equivalent to $450 USD

I ordered it online, God knows when will I receive it
 
Dominican Republic here, i imported mine from Amazon, which i had preordered since the E3 price reveal. Ended up paying a total of $507.00 including delivery and customs. Had to import mine from the US since consoles have absurd prices over here, currently the PS4 is on sale for around $815.00 on the official Sony store.
 
Since i live at the border, i got mine like 2 weeks ago, but it's cool that other brothers from latin america are finally joining the party. But i'm curious, how's the hype over there? I've barely seen any photos or video of people lining up to get the console.
 
Im waiting till they add a playstation store in my country(Peru), till then ill just wait
I dont feel comfortable doing all the usual bs to buy games digitally.
 
they have 50 ps4s on palacio de hierro durango (its close to reforma, plaza los cibeles) on mexico city, plus they have a 10% discount on them, im getting mine tomorrow :3

deals im aware of currently (mexaland)

palacio de hierro, 10% discount plus 10% on puntos palacio if you pay with tarjeta palacio
linio has some coupon for 10% discount
costco $7000

PH is looking very good if you pay with tarjeta palacio, like MXN $6100 which is like USD$465 so I'm going with that.

Same here, but I did it without knowing how much they suck at online shopping, not expecting it tomorrow.
 
The prices in latin america are crazy. Can't believe they're sold at those prices.

One silver lining of being US territory is our prices are usually the same. Got my PS4 two weeks ago for $400.

Hopefully my latin-american brothers get their consoles at a cheaper price in the future.
 
Mexa here. My brother is still pondering whether he should get one. I'll try to persuade him next time we're christmas shopping :P. Though those 8th gen prices sure are steep :/

yeah 8500 for the bone :s wtf, all the love MS had for us when the OG xbox launched is gone. back then i remember getting it for 2000 pesos with jet set radio and a meh racing game, why have they forsaken us :(
 
Mexican here (Guadalajara). I won't be able to buy the console at launch, but it will be the Christmas gift from me, to me!

what should i pick up with it? i know im getting need for speed but i don't know what else... im not really a fan of multiplayer games
i suck at them

Hmm, if i were you, i would give Assassins Creed 4 a chance. It's way better than i ever expected, and this coming from someone who hasn't played once since the original.
 
Perú here, yesterday was the midnight release. I would have loved to be there but, well, no games I care about. Maybe next yeat with The Order.
