Max: The Curse of Brotherhood on Xbox One tomorrow (20 December)

Originally announced earlier this year, Max: The Curse of the Brotherhood is the sequel to Press Play's 2010 title Max & the Magic Marker. This time, he’s on a trip to save his brother, who he accidentally banished to a fantastical world. It’s all very Labyrinth.

$15/£12! First unity game on Xbox one though made by Danish developer Press Play, 360 version early next year I think. Trailers at the link.

And presumably the 360 version is finished and ready for launch for months...thanks a lot MS for holding back the game for us poor "Tier 4" countries 360 peasants.

I believe the 360 version was finished then they went back to add some of the content to it that they added to the Xbox one version…

Wow, it actually looks good, and I'm quite hard to be impressed. I loooooooved The Cave, and this is giving me a great vibe- possibly because it looks a lot like The Cave but with more platforming focus. Definitely keeping an eye out.

According to the latest article on the game from Eurogamer:

If Max: The Curse of Brotherhood passes Microsoft's internal quality tests, it should launch early 2014 on Xbox One - ahead of the Xbox 360 version, despite that version being finished earlier this year.

Already happened with Lococycle and somewhat with the xbone only now Crimson Dragon (IIRC the 360 version is finished as well) and it's what I assume will also happen with Halo Spartan Assault and Super TIME Force.

Will buy just to support them for being kind enough to prioritize Xbox One users. Had no I interest, but now I do. :)

Arcade Games coming in good, first Peggle 2, now Max and Halo? When is Halo out, by the way?

Oddly enough I was just talking with my brother yesterday about this game coming out soon. Definitely wasn't expecting tomorrow though. Really ended up coming out of nowhere.

Will probably wait for reviews to see how long the game ends up being but as long as it has a lot of meat to it content wise then I'll probably drop the $15 for it.

Still, when poor Max dies, you feel it. If a monster doesn't gobble him up a gaping chasm will, or a lava pit, or something else nasty. There's no blood or anything you'd consider to be gore, but we're on the bleeding edge of cartoon violence here, and I wince more than once during my quick test of a handful of stages.

"We wanted to create a game where you really felt the hero was in danger. In Max and the Magic Marker he got erased every time he died, so it wasn't really a death. This time Max gets crunched and squashed and burned and everything you can think of."

I take back what I said about this looking like a less violent Heart of Darkness.

Wow wasn't expecting this so soon. My library is already filling up faster than I can complete games. Doesn't help that I can't put Forza down.

Played that at the Area One event in October. Looked nice but was a bit laggy to control. The marker mechanic felt okay but there was not much complicated things to do in that demo. I honestly got a bit frustrated as I always missed a jump over and over again and I felt like the timing was really weird and laggy. Hope there is a demo

Wow, that came out of nowhere didn't it? Definitely picking this up, it looks like a lot of fun.

I got a chance to see this little guy behind closed doors at E3 and found it very clever and enchanting. The demo only lasted about 15-20 mins so it's difficult to tell if the draw mechanic will get older after some time, but my impression was it looked like fun.

Oh snap Tomorrow? Was expecting early 2014. This is great! Will pick up. This and Halo Spartan Assault are a nice holiday treat for us early adopters.

big question is, will it have a demo? MS killed the XBLA demo requirement, but they should still lead by example with demos of their download-only titles

Well this was a nice surprise!
