I see Navi in that boss battle vid. Lawsuit anyone? :p

Joking aside, I'm surprised... actually looks good for an iOS game. Might pick it up for my iPad.

Hey, this looks pretty good.

I haven't been paying attention, but are Square-Enix as bad as localizing their mobile games as they are their handheld games?

They're pretty good actually, but I don't think this one in particular is getting localized, and if it is it's probably not getting released at the same time as the Japanese version.

it looks better than SD4, at least. but that isn't saying much

why in god's name does there have to be a barricade in every single enemy encounter though. ugh man sometimes i wonder how many people making these games actually played SD2

Well the producer for this game was also the producer for the feature phone remake of the first Mana game and the smartphone remake of Secret of Mana at least.

You beat me to it. Looking forward to playing it, saw the videos on Famitsu yesterday morning and was impressed.

I played for 20 min last night. I was just wishing I had a d-pad the whole time. It also runs terribly on my iPhone 4S. You can change the graphic settings so at first I was pleased, but then I realized it was already set to low :(.

That's one of the main things I didn't like about Legend of Mana, sad to see it come back.

I've played two story quests and some start dash ones, so far I really like the game, though it does feel rather simplistic, then again, none of the Mana games are really that deep as far as combat is concerned, instead their appeal to me is the world itself, which I'm really liking here, the characters are cute and colorful, and Itoken really delivers with the music.
Regarding performance issues, I've had it stutter a bit when killing some enemies, but it runs at 60 FPS the rest of the time (I think, if it's not 60 at least it's super smooth and over 30, playing on an iPhone 5c).

The "stamina" system hasn't been an issue so far, and I've been mostly using the bow. Auto-targeting makes the bow kind of broken though.
Also the movement controls took me a bit to get used to, I think I prefer virtual sticks for games of this sort, but it's playable. I'll probably keep playing since I really like it so far AND the game has GC support, it's not really that big of a thing but for games like these it helps me wanting to keep playing (plus the game having an actual storyline, unlike other F2P games).

For some reason the game reminds me of the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles series too, which I loved.

Been playing it the last few days and it really feels like a project that didn't start off exclusive to smartphone devices.

The stamina stuff hasn't once gotten in the way of playing.
