I've always had a soft spot for the 80's WWF Tag Team Titles. I'd also always known that WWF used a tag title belt in place of the Big Gold when Flair gave it back to the NWA. I had no idea that it was a custom made belt, though.. pretty cool:

The customized WWF Tag Team Championship belt used by Ric Flair as the Real Worlds Heavyweight Championship following the NWA taking back the Big Gold Belt. This version of Flairs World Title was censored on TV, with the storyline reason being that WWF President Jack Tunney didnt recognize the Championship in the WWF.

I found a picture of a belt from a Texas regional promotion from the 80's, it was just a bunch of really big plates that would completely cover a large man from thighs to nipples. I don't know what it was called, or I'd find it on Google.

I agree. It really sucks how many other guys aside from Cena had to haul that hunk of junk around. What a weird juxtaposition to have that title alongside pretty much any other wrestler outside of Cena.

I hate EVERYTHING with the scratch logo. They can burn in a fire.

Despite that, I kinda liked Cena's US title belt. Custom belts are cool because they can't be forced on other people.

every time i checked in on wrestling after i quit for a while, i always expected them to have moved on from that belt. they really kept that shit for 8 years.

I hate the new belt even more than the Spinner. It's the freaking logo. No room for a proper nameplate and only 2 tiny panels for crappy custom art.

I always liked the Attitude Era WWE championship. I always thought the Winged Eagle belt was kind of small, and this was a good evolution of that concept.

I'm also fond of DDT's awesomely named Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship.

Also, New Japan's NEVER Openweight Championship is the best faux Engrish belt.
