Sakurai is yet to clarify if it is a item or a AT, though its leaning towards item.
 
Mad happy with their addition, some fucking fun matches ahead.

Interestingly, if they're items, that makes 3 new Zelda items confirmed. If they're ATs, that's 2 new Zelda ones so far.

Also, in the case some of you folks were like me and couldn't recognize where they got their look from...

YESSSSSSSSS! YESSSS! Someone brought the potential of Cuccos in Smash 4 in smashgaf threads and I really love the idea so much that I really hope that it would happens. Guess what? IT ACTUALLY HAPPENS! I'm definitely hyped about the item.
 
Regardless of which they are, I hope attacking them results in tons appearing out of nowhere and attacking you.

I'm actually surprised there was no follow up pic today showing what happens or specifying whether they're ATs or Items.

This is gonna be one of those things Sakurai just waits months to clarify to torture us :P
 
We all know what happens when a Cucco is attacked too many times... The Cuccos summons its friends to attack!

Cucco should've been in Smash ages ago!

I'm pretty sure that it would happens but I would be surprised that we wouldn't get that result if we hit cuccos multi times.
 
If they come in hordes I will focus on attacking these things more than Smash Balls. I wonder if they give the glide effect like in Zelda too.
 
cuccos are the most powerful thing in the Zelda series.

Haha, this is a great addition to Smash Bros. I really hope that attacking them results in even more showing up, just like in the Zelda games.

They're also immortal, you can't knock them down no matter how many times you strike them.
 
This is the best addition since mother brain, I'd be hard pressed not to deliberately incur the wrath of a cucco.

That animal crossing character in the background is bugging me, I don't recall him at all.
 
Will be a box hazard for sure like Mr Saturn. And taking too much hits they will swarm the whole stage.

It reminds of Link's Awakening where you can burn them all with the fire rod. Don't remember if it was possible in some other games.
 
I was hoping for Giant Cuccos to make an appearance, that would wreak such havoc on the battlefield
