The Amazing Spider-Man 2 up for purchase on Xbox One Games Store?

The filesize seems to indicate hat the game is coming relatively soon unless they sent it to Microsoft first and then discovered the problems and delayed

The only reason I can think this would be on this store and not available on retail is because the gold copy of the code ended up having a game/console breaking bug and since they can't assume all Xbox Ones are connected to the internet, they would have to recall all discs to scrap them and repress the updated game that gets rid of that bug. All just speculation though.
 
Wow, that's pretty crazy. I wonder if the people who grab it before it possibly goes down will just have an old build until a retail version comes out with a patch. Or they just have a digital release and possibly support it there, or not support it at all.

Sony and Activision weren't kidding with their statement on their new strong commitment on working together to promote games on the PS.

Might just take my preorder from eb and convert it to mspoints card and buy it off the store. Will wait and see if its legit first though.

Seems odd though, would have lost alot of preorders last week when they took it off official marketing.

A simple comment stating digital would be available but disc versions delayed would have saved alot of headaches.

That's a good guess, but it wouldn't explain the rumors about the disk coming in july. Two months to produce the disks?

I think either this is a broken, unfixed version, or the game isn't broken at all and the retail delay is due to other reasons.
 
Someone needs to buy it.

If the game isn't supposed to come out yet, the game is gonna be worth more.

I sort of wonder if they really ARE going with a DD release or just... what. Maybe they misprinted the discs and took the most absurd solution possible.
 
I'm willing to bet that someone at XBL wasn't clued in to the game's 'limbo' status and unknowingly flipped the switch.

In that case, I wonder if MS can revoke access or if this game will become the digital equivalent of NBA Elite 11 (granted it never comes out on XBO)?
 
Has anyone actually BOUGHT and downloaded it by the way? I'd love to hear if the performance or whatever is crap and if there's any serious bugs, or if there's nothing obviously wrong with it.

If Microsoft are willing to put it up then they must be okay with whatever it is that's wrong...? Then again it could be an accident. Or they simply fixed whatever was an issue.
 
I would buy this if I owned an Xbox One, and lend my Xbox One to digital foundry. Or I would expect them to be on this case.

Seriously. This is the closest thing to proper game journalism is, isn't it? Dissect the shit outta it and find out why it was delayed.
