ZombiU is a GREAT game

I remember this got mixed reviews at the WiiU launch, but I picked it up and ended up loving it.

Graphics could be a little muddy, and they REALLY needed more than one melee weapon in the game, but man was this game tense and thrilling.

It reminded me of Dark Souls in the way that each and every encounter rewarded patience, it was so fun work through London in this game. Never finished it, but I played through a big chunk of fhe game twice. May go back for a third round....

So yeah, if you have a WiiU and haven't tried this game, give it a shot! It's dirt cheap now I think.

Shame it didn't sell well enough to get a sequel.

Any other ZombiU fans here?

One of the best Wii U games. Best Gamepad usage, one kg the best shooters ever because of the amazing controller integration. No better inventory management/suspensefull moments ever in gaming.

I really enjoyed what I played of it. More importantly, it really shows off how great the gamepad controller is. Ironically, it probably shows that off better than almost all the Nintendo games so far. Personally, it's among my favorite controllers of all time, and possibly my top choice.

The game is really cool too. It's not what I expected at first, with the permanent death, and the roguelike feel of it. Very unique game. I highly recommend it to new Wii U owners. I got it for $15 new in October. It's so worth it for that cost.

Very intense game, and it's actually one of the only TRUE survival horror games I've played in recent memory (not to knock action horror. I love those too). You really have to carefully ration everything, and then go back to find all the items you left with on your body if you die.

ZombiU is an outstanding game, and is one of the best horror games of the past five years. It's brilliantly paced, as well.

One of the weirdest reviewed games ever. Excellent reviews in Europe, bad-to-meh reviews in the US.

I think the slow paced rogue-like gameplay might put some off, but god damn if it isn't an amazing experience.

Absolute best use of gamepad so far. I love the game to death. I'm going to attempt a survival run sometime after summer.

Scary as hell too.

Copy from Amazon should be here next week. Been picking up a few games I've wanted since launch on the cheap, recently. Really looking forward to ZombiU.

Very solid survival action title that will never get the audience it deserves because the nintendo audience doesn't buy third party games.

But I would never want to see ZombiU leave the Wii-U.

One of the best games I've played in years, and easily in the top 3 survival horrors. The gamepad was proven with this one.

Exactly my thought.

I never regretted by my Wii U at launch as I thought Zombi U was a great launch title. In many ways it was a better title than the majority of exclusive games which were made available with the XO and PS4.

In Europe it's just 19,99 Euro on the eShop.

I bought a Wii U on launch day with this and a Pro controller (ZombiU Premium Pack). Played the crap out of it and loved it. Man, I wasn't that much scared by a game for a long time. How often I've nearly shit my pants because of this game. 9 months later I've sold my Wii U, but recently I jumped back in and looking forward to play it once again!

I loved Zombi U. Sold my copy when I boxed up my Wii U for the school year, but after being reminded of it by this thread I'm pretty tempted to pick it up again on the cheap.

Best survival horror game I've played in the last decade, easily.

Now that you mention it, I think ZombiU is better than any of the XO or PS4 launch titles....

I just recently started over due to me being away from it far too long. I hope I can finishi it now under a shorter time frame.

yes it is. my favourite wiiu game, my favourite survival horror in a decade, I would love a sequel!

Great game. So tense at some points. And even if it's not the most technically amazing game, holy shit, that was some thick grimy atmosphere.

I also thought ZombiU was one of the best games of the year in 2012. I really enjoyed the death mechanic and trying to find yourself to get your stuff back. It was a real survival horror game.

I'm sad it didn't sell well since I would have loved to seen a sequel on Wii U. It deserved much better sales.

I was legit shook when
you fell into the sewer section and your radar wouldn't work for a while since it got water on it.
It took me forever to get out of there due to inching my way forward and pissing myself along the way.

One of my favorite survival horror games and still my favorite Wii U game.

If they put a sequel up on kickstarter, it'd be the first one I'd spend money on. I know they're worried about sales but it truly was an amazing game and one of the few games that sold me on the gamepad.

It was quite scary at times too for a zombie game...lol. I think the thought of losing everything just made it so much more intense than most games.

Yep. One of the best survival horrors on the market.

Yes, it really is. It's not for everyone, but it's one the best games I've played in years and I almost didn't buy it because of those stupid reviewers.

My copy is still in shrink-wrap. Would like to LTTP it at some point. Maybe I'll try it the next time I have friends over. Seems like it'd be a fun title to take turns?

One of the great survival horror games. The tension created by the use of the Gamepad is intuitive and the whole 'one life' mechanic works well. Could have used more polish, especially with the melee combat but hopefully a sequel would fix this.

Best true survival horror game of the decade. It's a pity games like this can't seem to find an audience because people prefer to shoot things. It was also the first game that sold me on the Wii U concept.

Great game. Sadly the Wii u flop at launch was a death keel. There was a sequel in prepro and then I believe a multiplat retool, and now no idea. Prolly buried.

Shame the world wasn't ready. Multiplayer was really innovative too

The CEO of Ubisoft was actually unusually candid in basically saying it's never, ever going to happen, and they weren't even remotely close to being profitable with it.

Too short, too repetitive due to that fucking cricket bat, but still an awesome, unique, genuinely unsettling game. The larger, more versatile sequel we'll never get would have been amazing.

Another lover here!

It just feels strange reading all the reviews and most of them just shit the game... it's been my first real survival experience in years and God if I loved it! The atmosphere, the use of the GamePad, everything was put in the right place! And apart from some little issues with all the dark colors in there (might be my TV fucking it up) even the graphics weren't so bad!

Ehhhh, not sure this would be the best game to do that with lol. The multiplayer is pretty dope though.

Thank you for making this thread, ZombiU is one of the greatest survival horrors I've ever played and it really does not get enough love. The game is ridiculously scary but so rewarding when you finish it. I'm gonna do another play through on survivor mode pretty soon since you reminded me of it.

Guys if you got a Wii u for Mario Kart do urself a huge favor and pick up Zombi U.

Game is pretty good. I think I got up to the part where you go to
Buckingham Palace
. Anyone know how much further there is or how long it takes to complete?

Thing is, I played it after completing The Last Of Us, which I found to be a more compelling game. After I got to the above location in Zombi U I saved my progress and haven't gone back. A lot of replies in here have only half finished the game.

So, good game but not super compelling enough that I completed it. Now Mario Kart 8 is here and my free game (Pikmin 3) I can't see myself going back to complete Zombi U for some time.

Fun game, with two major flaws that don't make me go over the 7/10 (still very good) mark:

- from a technology standpoint, the game is bad: graphics are bad, animations are bad, it's an exclusive title but it's ridiculously unoptimized and that's a real shame because behind the marketing push (even the name is pure marketing) there's some great gameplay to be found;

- the atmosphere is ruined by the voice on the radio, the music and the loading screens: the game's presentation pushes the kind of narrative that can be found in contemporary zombie movies, which are usually very bad, even if the game itself is actually far better;

It's a game that could have been a true masterpiece, but wasn't taken seriously enough by its publisher. I hope for a sequel that improves the whole package.

On a side note: at this point there's no real single system seller for the Wii U, but there are a bunch of games that taken as a whole 100% justify the purchase IMO.

I got it at launch with my Wii U and still haven't beat it. I was really sick at the time and all the stuff with looking down at the gamepad then up at the TV just gave me a huge headache and made me nauseous. I have had a lot of fun with the multiplayer though. The announcer was great. One day I shall go back to the campaign.

ZombiU is not a GREAT game. just IMO, and there are certainly some stinkers on PS4 and X1, but let's be real here. call a spade a spade. ZombiU is trash.
