We've always had MLG Threads, so I think 2014 deserves another too, especially with smash's return. Go ham, get hype. Thanks to El Sloth for additional help.

I've been playing a lot of Falco this week and that last match really upped my respect for both players. PP and Remen are fantastic.

Doc's Falco controls the ground like no other Falco I've seen.

And that Remen comeback in the third match was wonderful.

No Halo, Counter Strike, or Street Fighter?

They haven't had Halo for a bit, and haven't had counter striker for like... ever.

And we've never had a capcom game at an MLG for as long as I can remember.

CS:GO has had a ton of momentum in Europe, but this is an American tournament series, so I can't see it coming here.

It's just cool to see Killer Instinct be a thing again in 2014.
Does commentating actually add anything?

I remember when Killer Instinct was new in 2013, commentators were just nuisances. Just turn up the in-game announcer.

that was quick. can't wait to watch ads for another 3 years before the next match...

Hbox v Armada coming up next. I wonder if we are gonna see Y.Link v Ness again.

I'm sure the game has gained enough nuance to necessitate some form of commentary at this point.

The new characters have been adding a whole bunch of new mechanics that have deepened the game as a whole, imo. It's gotten way more fun to watch since release.

As someone who doesn't play Jigglypuff, that Young Link matchup looks arduous. Kinda like anyone else vs Jigglypuff.

REST

Is that why it hasnt started yet? I didnt really know the schedule, but it seems like it should have started by now,
Yeah it was supposed to have started about 90 minutes ago. I suppose it might be partially MLG's fault for apparently bad internet (or whatever the source of it is), but this isn't the first time a tournament has suffered where LAN support could have prevented the problem.

Obviously Blizzard wants SC2 to be huge for eSports and it is just embarrassing to see lag and drops during an event. Picking up during replay is nice, but its a lame answer to LAN support.
