Hope the self-promotion is not frowned upon, but I just released an update to my app, AutoVoice, that may interest a lot of people.

Check out the YouTube video

With it, you can now add any voice command you'd like to Google Now and do anything Tasker and its plugins can do, straight from Google Now. :)

Let me know what you think!

pretty cool, but you should buy a condenser mic if you're going to advertise in a commercial-style fashion.

I'll check this out!

Thanks for the tip! I'm actually using the Rock Band mic for my videos :D Really need to get a new one.
Let me know if you get around playing with it.

Ok I have it installed. I won't have time to play around with it until the weekend but I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do.

This looks great!! Is there a way to have Google now listen in any screen or even when its off instead of just the home screen like the moto x?

This is a very impressive application. Are you planning on monetizing it in any way?

If you are (and maybe even if you aren't), and please don't take offense to this, you owe it to yourself to make a slicker video with some professional VO. The app deserves it.

Awesome work!

If you're in the market for a cheap USB mic, as a step up from the Rock Band mic, I always recommend the Blue Snowball: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000EOPQ7E/?tag=neogaf0e-20

It's inexpensive, works with everything, and is a really great mic for all sorts of stuff.

In recent versions of Google Now they added that feature but only for Android KitKat+ I believe. Screen off listening is only available while charging though. Still very cool :)

I'm actually already monetizing it. You only get a limited version of it for free. :) And you're right, a professional voice-over would make a whole lot of sense, but I've never even looked into that kind of stuff. Any tips on how to get started with that?

Self promotion within a self promotion thread eh?

Awesome, great tip, thanks! Does it sound a whole lot better than the Rock Band Mic? My main gripes with the Rock Band one is that it's a bit muffled and you always hear the "P"s really loud, which sounds awful.

Cool. This looks really simplified so I will give this a shot again. I bought Tasker a while ago but I gave up trying to configure it.

It has a much better range than the Rock Band mic, and sounds clearer more often than not. Investing in a 14 dollar cloth Pop Filter from Amazon would help in cutting down on the P's and S hisses, but the Snowball itself takes care of a surprising amount of them without one. You can just clip that to the included desk stand too.

Here's what it sounds like (slight echo is because I'm in a room with high ceilings): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2960111/Sound Test.mp3

It's a lovely mic.

(laugh) I didn't offer! I'm busy mang. But I can hook the OP up.

I'll send you a PM.

Not that it really matters, but Google Now only refers to the feature where they provide you with potentially relevant information cards without having to actively perform a search. This is a voice search thing.

Wow that was really impressive. After awhile you get so used to all this awesome technology you start to forget what can we do next and this is a sharp, hard-hitting reminder.

Wow OP, to say this is really cool would be a massive understatement. You should definitely invest in someone to do some graphic design for you as well as some better video equipment for the advert, as I imagine with the right leverage this could be huge.

A direct screen capture with a voiceover with a better mic would help a lot.

Wow, awesome sound test, thanks. It sound really crisp. Thanks, I'll really consider getting that!

How are you getting you tablet to control your PC?

I'm using AutoRemote. Check it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joaomgcd.autoremote

You can control all sorts of stuff remotely with it :)

Check out this video for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvBY5QCvDVs

Thanks for all the feedback!
