If you could become wealthy from something 'stupid'

I am going to use stupid subjectively here.



but say you get a calling, you find you can do something that earns you a lot of money.



But this activity is frowned upon, not professional, but legitimate.

it takes up 40% of your time in a year and earns you a huge following and fame. but most people dont take you seriously.


Do you do it, even Ironically?

If Kim Kardashian can go to bed at night knowing she sold a book of her selfies to add to her wealth, I'm sure I can rest easy knowing I unleashed something equally as stupid or more so onto the world.
 
I`m actually having this thought right, I`ve come up with an app idea that I believe would make me very wealthy, but the concept of the app might make a lot of people (friends, family) think I`m a monster.

Monster or Money.....choices choices
 
Like Flappy Bird rich? Hell yeah,

Like PewDiePie rich? Probably for a year then I would move to something else.

Or whatever. No matter how stupid the thing is I am doing, if it has a massive amount of fame, I can still put out an idea or two that will help change the world ever so slightly to how I want it to be.

Jerking off to cam? =( Nah, that's the one thing I cannot do.

Do it, and then sink money into fixing social issues. Hard to talk shit about people who build orphanages.
 
Is it something stupid that I enjoy? I know I'd love to make six figures streaming games on Twitch or something of the like. I wouldn't feel embarrassed as long as I was making enough money to support myself while enjoying myself.

wouldnt the choice be "Being broke or being a monster"
 
First thing that came to mind is the cast of The Big Bang Theory. I can only assume they all know that that show is fucking awful, but they don't care because they're cashing giant checks season after season. I would definitely do that, even though it would be hard to go around to different talk shows and other gigs to promote it and pretend like it isn't shit.
 
Kim Kardashian doesn't count, because she thinks she deserves to be famous, and has no self-awareness of why she is. I think the OP is referring to something plainly embarrassing, like a YouTube celebrity (Tron guy, Star Wars kid, etc.).

I guess I'd do it.

My something stupid would definitely have to be Disc Jockey. Defo get a bad rap from the majority.
 
Money is too hard to make and requires so much luck to ever land a job that pays well.

If someone has an opportunity to make a lot of money, you take it. You don't fuck around when an opportunity like that arises.
