Will Freeman (David Walton) lived a charmed existence in San Francisco. After writing a hit song, he was granted a life of free time, free love and freedom from financial woes. He's single, unemployed and loving it. So imagine his surprise when Fiona (Minnie Driver), a needy single mom and her oddly charming 11-year-old son, Marcus (Benjamin Stockham), move in next door and disrupt his perfect world. When Marcus begins dropping by his home unannounced, Will's not so sure about being a kid's new best friend. But before he realizes it, Will starts to enjoy the visits and even finds himself looking out for the kid. In fact, this newfound friendship teaches him a thing or two that he never imagined possible - about himself and caring for others.

By the end of Season 1, Will has fallen in love with Sam, a beautiful doctor. But when that love takes him to New York and away from Fiona and Marcus, Will realizes just how much they mean to him. Will he stay in New York for love, or return to his home and to Marcus, whom he has grown to love as well?

Season 2 starts Tuesday, Oct 14th 9.30/8.30c on nbc.
Not sure how many episodes there will be. Had a quick look but couldn't find a number.

Thanks for making the OT! I'm so psyched. I really dug the first season a lot. I'm interested to see where it'll go with the cliffhanger (I've been avoiding trailers and info about the second season).

Season two starts tonight,

Episode 1 - About a Vasectomy
Will returns to San Francisco to sort out his finances after a surprising royalty check. Andy reveals to him that his wife Laurie might be pregnant and he needs Will's help to find out. Meanwhile, Marcus's new "friends" don't sit well with Will and he attempts to convince Fiona that the kids are up to no good.

Poor Marcus.
Little dude got no friends again.
Although I have no idea how they're gonna resolve his relationship with Sam without breaking them up. How are they gonna break up?

Interesting premiere. I loved the way last year ended and was wondering how they'd get him back to San Francisco for this season. I guess their differing views on New York will probably break them up. It is too bad though. Sam is just so great, kind of stinks they'd have to break up. Maybe they won't but it seems headed that way. Not the funniest episode, but a solid start. This show became one of my favorite comedies but the end of Season 1. Really great show.
