Aliens vs Predator Classic 2000 features the Colonial Marine, Alien and Predator Campaigns and the frenetic single-player Skirmish mode from the original title: Alien Versus Predator Gold Edition, which was released to massive acclaim in 2000. Take your pick: be a Colonial Marine, a Predator or an Alien. Fight through suspense-filled environments: from starships and space stations to colonial bases and eerie planetscapes. One wrong move turns you from hunter to prey. Deathmatch, Species Deathmatch, Predator Tag, and Cooperative modes avait for you in the multiplayer section!

The second one is much better .. has a fantastic interconnected story that spans all 3 races.

The "We call this ..." parts in the video are a bit awkward. And I am not sure what to expect from the service. Signed up anyway for the free game.

Better or worse than the Atari Jaguar Alien vs Predator?

This certainly doesn't look great by today's standards, but it is the best Alien / Predator games out there, with exception to the new Alien Isolation. Genuinely tense and frightening when playing as a Marine but also utterly entertaining when you are a Predator or Alien

thanks, GOG!

just play this.

the marine campaign - although based on aliens and you are seriously armed - is incredibly dark and just as scary as Alien Isolation.

both the alien and the predator campaign are very unique and fun, as the alien you are the wall walking and lurking super stealth killer, as the predator you feel like the most badass hunter in the galaxy, all three campaigns are an absolute must play.

it's free, give this a shot.

I hope this works out well. There's a lot of great PC classics that could use a second multiplayer wind.

Also, GOG Galaxy! Please, yes please, oh yes so good. My library is so big, you know you want a client for that!

Wait, I just realized... does this mean GOG Galaxy will act as a multiplayer hub for legacy games, similar to Gamespy/Gameranger, etc.?

That would be amazing. (If we could play AVP99 online through it)

Better or worse than the Atari Jaguar Alien vs Predator?

Better. The game has definitely aged a bit but it still holds up (it can get a little confusing navigating because there is no map system and certain maps are not terribly easy to figure out) but it's easily one of the scariest Alien games that came out before Isolation. The Aliens infinitely respawn and can easily kill you. So it's worth checking out.

Who owns the rights to AvP2? And why haven't they made it avaialble for DL?

It was developed by Monolith and owned by Sierra/Fox Interactive. It had a pretty decent single player campaign (not as scary as Rebellion's entry) and even though the multiplayer was broken it did have a pretty active mod scene.

dumb question but does it give you a steam code or just a download link?

...It's GoG... not Steam... why would they give you a Steam code for a rival service?

Signed up, but I have no interest in the client. :/ Origin, Uplay, Steam... GoG's major advantage was being web-based.

STFU those Jaguar graphics were GOTY.. lol..

thanks.

When I got my jaguar in 1996, when Kay Bee Toys was liquidating their stock. I bought one specifically for one game: Alien vs Predator. I came home with 3 games that day: Cybermorph, the pack in, Alien vs Predator, and Tempest 2000. T2k was actually my last choice, I wanted Doom but they didn't have it.

Tempest 2000 is the only reason I held on to the system. Outstanding game. AvP disappointed me so badly. The game runs at like 10 fps and it has no music and the gameplay is pretty much wolfenstein in that everything is flat, and all the rooms look the same, and you're just running from exit to exit.

I'll never understand why that game got any hype at all. I've since collected every jaguar game there is, including many unreleased games, and AvP remains one of the games I have the lowest opinion on.

How can you play this with a controller the aliens are so fast.

It wasn't really designed for a controller I don't think. You could probably increase sensitivity and hope for the best. Otherwise best bet is to hope the marine "smart gun" saves you
