As for differences between the versions of the game, Sakura stated that an announcement – possibly a Nintendo Direct – highlighting the exclusive features of the Wii U version that will show the "true potential of Smash Bros." was currently in the works and will be released soon.

Another Smash Bros. Direct? It's true we know very little about the Wii U exclusive stuff.

"Game development is very hard." Sakurai went on in his column in Weekly Famitsu. "You cannot get through it without sacrificing everything, including your own private life, and you often get hurt. However, I'm grateful that so many people have been involved, for the games that are completed, and all the people who play the games."

They waited till the 3DS version was out to cover the Wii U's modes because it's going to make 3DS completely irrelevant isn't it?

Only by showing the true potential of Super Smash Bros will Sakurai be able to stop Nomura harnessing the burning anger in his heart. The great battle still lies ahead.

I want an anime starring japanese game developers.

Honestly feel like it'll be part of a Direct and not it's own. If it was its own, I feel like he would've properly announced it through Miiverse rather than just mentioning it in Famtisu.
 
Man, I'm so glad I resisted the 3DS version. The REAL smash bros is about to be revealed. Full story mode, 8-man brawls, flawless netcode, and a Snake/Ridley tag-team character as DLC.

Can't wait.
