Don't believe me? Check the specs! I am having a hard time believing this, but go through the list of Mini 2 and Mini 3 for yourself, and you'll see that spec-for-spec, they are pretty much identical save for Touch ID. What does this mean? It means the iPad Mini A7 Series starts at 299 USD for a 16 GB, 349 for a 32 GB, and unless you wanna pay for the Touch ID tax (who does?), a 64 is 150 more at 499, followed by 128 at 599.

Wow, just wow.

Excited to find a used retina Mini for ~$200.

May not be, if the screen is upgraded. Color fidelity of Mini Retina was woefully inadequate compared to the screens on their other devices.

Doesn't it have a better processor? I mean, not $100 worth, I guess. Is it more expensive than last year or the same price?

No, thats the problem. Same specs as the Mini 2, just a better wifi chip and touch ID and some different storage configurations for $100 more.

EDIT: not even better wifi! God damn... why did the even keep the mini 2 around?

Yeah, thats pretty rotten. I love Touch ID but not $100 more.

I'll get the new Air. The lightness of the air makes up for its bigger size. I kind of dont mind it anymore.

16GB iPad Mini 3 is £319 while the 16GB iPad Air 3 is £399. What a fucking joke this is and if anyone does by the Mini 3 then all I can say is fucking hell.

I think we have reached a point of diminishing returns for tablets. That said, charging $100 for a feature of questionable utility is a bit nuts.

Apple really seems to be struggling to come up with something truly new.

I couldn't believe it. They should have at least added the A8 and a laminated screen. you'd have to be an idiot to get the mini 3 over the mini retina.

The iPad Air 2 looks awesome at least. What the fuck apple, this is insane.

That is hilarious. And you weren't kidding either, the only difference I can find in the comparison is the touch ID for the mini 3.

Maybe this is Apple testing the waters to see if what people really care about is just their device looking slightly different with a higher product series number, regardless of the tech bumps.

touch id radically changes the way we think of iPad and enhances the magical experience customers have by interacting with their device. It's worth the extra cash.

Its a post Jobs Apple that cares more about the bottom line than the innovation to push the industry forward.

Even their Apple Watch fell pretty flat, minus the Apple workers cheering it on.

I made the jump back into Apple this year with the iPad Air, and iPhone 6. As for the phone end, I'll be going back to Android next year. Just too many features that KitKat, and now Lollipop offers in their OS.

2nd gen mini 32GB for $349 is kinda tempting. How is it in terms of general usage? The size I believe would be perfect for comics but it would make for a smaller size in terms of general use.

Can't see myself upgrading my iPad Mini 2 anytime soon. Works just fine for me.

Don't really "need" touch ID. It's convenience. (assuming one locks their device at all)

I wonder if the small tablet market is collapsing faster than full-sized? Of the big 3 (Google Amazon, Apple), nobody updated their small tablet flagships this year and the new large tablets are mostly just last year's models with a CPU bump and 802.11ac.
