YGOPRO - Automatic Dueling System, is there any love for you guys?

Ever since I watched the anime, I wanted to play Yu-Gi-Oh! I saved my money to get booster packs, lots and lots of booster packs. Problem was, they always add new cards. So one day, I burned all my cards. No kidding. I don't know why, ask the past me. However I enjoyed playing it. And I still do. But what to do? Buying booster packs again? Meh. At first I found dueling network, what most of you people probably know of. Though, in my opinion it is not really fun. Simply because you have to do literally everything on your own, I mean everything and sometimes you even have to explain things to your opponent because he might not know your cards. <_< Meh.

So, I wanted something automatic. So like Yu-Gi-Oh! online but cheaper. Because you have to buy booster packs online then. Meh.

Then I finally found it! YGOPRO!

It always gets new updates, bug fixes, new cards added, etc.

The most remarkable features are:

  • Fully automated
    Online multiplayer
    LAN Mode
    Latest cards
    Anime cards
    Play against AI
Available for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Android and iOS
    Fully featured deck edit
Replays, save them, share them, watch them
Create your own rules, use banned cards again if you wish
    Puzzle mode
    Music & Sound Effects
Customizable system, change layout, sleeves, card pictures appearance
Rage Quitter, as usual. Seriously you get them very often
    It's totally free!

You should try and don't use Meta Decks, you can have fun with your favorite cards, seriously!

My favorite deck!

I personally prefer devpro but yeah it's great. One of my favorite decks has always been zombies. I just wish they had better support nowadays.

I never tried DevPro, so I can't really compare, but YGOPRO is great.

It's really good for testing decks and new strategies, but I didn't see much people in matchmaking (and as you said, ragequitters), so I usually play with my friends only. And since cards are expensive IRL, we can go nuts on that thing with whatever build comes to our minds.

Also, that's where I tried Ghostricks for the first time.

I've been out of the game for a couple years. I feel it would take a while for me to learn the new cards. But, the Yu-Gi-Oh! game on mobile is very slow, lackluster, and takes forever to earn cards.

What is the difference between YGOPRO and DevPro?

devpro is basically ygopro with Moderators and tournaments and you can challenge people directly. In ygopro you have to host first or enter a room, to play. But still devpro is basically ygopro, it's the same software just with another software.

My main problem with it is that there are so many yugioh cards and it gives you very little guidance, so if you've been out of the series for a while it can be really hard to figure out a good deck. I know they can sort by the archetypes and stuff like that, but it's still pretty overwhelming

Oh, okay. So which one would be best if I just wanted to challenge random people, and not being fully competitive?

Look up an archetype on the yugioh Wikipedia and it pretty much teaches you the basics of that deck and what cards to use

ygopro should be fine. But that's my personal preference. devpro has more maintenance just to fix chat etc.. that's why I prefer the actual software. You can click on the first picture, it contains a link to ygopro.

You'll need to make a free account to download it. But that's the only thing you need the account for, you won't need an account to play it. The account is mostly only used for the forum.

I'll check it out, thanks for the tip, dude! Do we still have new synchro cards or are they done? Still viable competitively? Probably my favorite thing in the series (5D's was ass though)

last time i took yu gi oh seriously was 08-09

and i watched the yu gi oh pro tour and raigeki was back

i was like :lol

pendulum is the new thing right now

ygopro is great, I just wish there was some way to get it on ipad

you can use this website or others and test out some of the decks to see which ones you like http://www.pojo.biz/board/forumdisplay.php?f=107

Synchro is still there, xyz aswell, pendulum also. Personally I am not a fan of pendulum.

Alright, thanks! I will try this out.

Wow, I just looked at the ban list. Morphing Jar, Brionac, and Sangan being banned while Raigeki, Snatch Steal, and Dark Hole (at 2) being allowed makes no sense, or at least from the point of view of something that hasn't played in 2.5 years.

I looked up Pendulum Summoning. I suppose that gives reason for Raigeki being allowed, if people can just summon their whole hand in one turn. Unless I understood the concept wrong.

New synchros are being made now, since the Arc-V anime is actually doing a lot of homages to old stuff and not just focusing on pendulums (unlike ZeXal and XYZ). It's actually going a multiple universe route where the universes of old shows are all colliding so there are guys specializing in synchro, xyz, and even fusion. There are actually very few archetypes with pendulum right now.

Nope, your not wrong. It's broken but still good because they allow some banned cards again.

That sounds cool. Should I watch it, even though I despise the main character's design?

I don't understand. What do you mean by "automated?"

Probably like the official games. You use dark hole, and it will automatically get rid of all of the monsters, whereas with something like Dueling Network, you had to do that yourself.

Downloading the Android version now.

That's so dumb. Why wouldn't it be automated? That's like playing a racing game and keeping track of the times yourself.

There was a YGO game I played on my computer a LONG time ago that was automated. You're telling me they went backwards since then?

Fully automated and play against AI

Downloading right now

And my favorite archtype are Roids, hence why I'm playing against the computer

Dueling Network is an unofficial website, and they probably didn't want to program the effects of all the cards. Cards come out quite often, so it is quite a bit of work.

You need to take into account that DN is browser based, and it's orignal purpose was for practice/experiment with different decks to then buy them for real tournament play. So "manual" play is intended. It's filled with meta decks.

I'm confused on the legality of this. Is this a Konami release?

It is legal. The card scripts are all original created by the developer of this software. And the card images are only for you. You can replace any image if you want, what they just did is, bundled all the images in to one.

I was confused when I didn't get to draw on my first turn. Turns out they changed the rules and the player that goes first only gets 5 cards :/ Maybe Konami should keep their own mobile game up to date?

You have to use obsolete rules if you want to draw on the first turn otherwise the second player draws first.

That's an interesting rule change, have to admit I like it since the player going first definitely had an advantage unless they just drew shit. (Nothing like drawing 2 spells, 2 traps, and a lv5 monster on turn 1).

I dabbled with devpro a while back, it's probably been over a year, and it was pretty neat. ygopro demanded I make an account and go online to use it so I never did, while devpro has offline/LAN/direct connect mode. Not really sure what the differences between them are.

This happened while I tested a deck against my brother. Won on the second turn.

Like I said earlier, you only need an account to download it and not to play it. ygopro has the same connection possibilities as devpro, it's the same software. devpro only includes global chatting, which ygopro' chechmate server also does, tournaments and challenging options.
