The quest of the hunter and the hunted has begun, today marks the kickoff of the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta, giving fans around the world their first taste of the next evolution of Halo combat.

Launching in fall 2015 exclusively on Xbox One, Halo 5: Guardians continues the story of the Master Chief, and introduces a brand new central character to the Halo universe – Spartan Locke. Peace is shattered when colony worlds are unexpectedly attacked. And when humanity’s greatest hero goes missing, Spartan Locke is tasked with hunting the Master Chief and solving a mystery that threatens the entire galaxy.

Today, pre-orders have kicked off by revealing early details on various editions of Halo 5: Guardians.

With three pre-order editions to choose from, eager fans can reserve a copy of Halo 5: Guardians, plus exclusive content:

Standard Edition for $59.99 – Halo 5: Guardians plus an exclusive poster, only available to those who pre-order.

Limited Edition for $99.99 – Everything in the Standard Edition plus new digital content to enhance Spartan combat and exclusive items wrapped in a uniquely designed steel book.

Limited Collector’s Edition for $249.99 – Everything in the Limited Edition as well as additional content such as a commemorative numbered statue designed by 343 Industries. More details on the design to be shared at a later date.

They have gone overboard with the Collector's edition.

The $59.99, $99.99, $149.99 Price Scheme that Bungie had going was pretty good.

My god. I don't own an Xbox One but there's no way in hell I'd pay that much for a collectors edition for anything. Hell, not even FFXV.

ill wait for $30 range editions....The MCC has soured me on the taste of Halo which is the only thing Xbox has going for it at the moment. Sunset Overdrive was boring as hell.

They should just call the $250 version the "will be $75 in 3 months because who wants this garbage" edition
 
Man, I can't be the only one getting sick of statue based CE's? The worst part is they're getting dearer by the year! £130 was the old norm for them, which was way overpriced in itself. Now we've managed to get to £250(courtesy of their butt awful conversion rates).
 
Announcing these editions with those crazy prices without any images or details is only going to build contempt, not hype.

Titanfall's was the same price on launch.

Got heavily discounted after in the UK because not many people wanted to pay such a ridiculous price. You can quite literally buy a console for £250 here.

The digital content better be a season pass or else that's one hell of a rip-off. $40 extra for a steelbook? Exclusive items also better be physical stuff like an artbook.
 
I love what these guys charge for the ugly you/statue versions.

I'll take the wait to see if it actually works edition.

When Halo 3 was coming out and i was 18, i would totally be all over this. Its amazing how much i laugh at that price now that I'm much more grown up. I guess that there are really people out there that will totally buy that for $250.
 
Holy shit the bitterness in this thread, lets wait and see what each version contains before posting the faux outrage at least.
