Capcom planning to support Deep Down for 15 years, will release after DDO

I wish them luck with Deep Down but I'm lukewarm to everything they've shown so far.

Meanwhile... I'm still totally elated that we are getting Dragon's Dogma Online. OMG, I totally spaced out and forgot about that announcement for a few days... it's really happening! :|
 
I only remember the first reveal trailer and how awesome it looked.
Seen game play videos that mimic dark souls vibe, but worse.

Now with this additional information, i'm not interested in it anymore. Like someone mentioned above, sounds like a lot of DLC. Sorry capcom :(
 
The wait for Deep Down continues. 15 years of support sound crazy but sure, i'll take it.
I just realized that alot of games im hyped for are F2P. Now if only some of them had release dates.
 
Can't wait to try both this and DDO. They could end up being great. But it remains to be seen how well they balance the f2p aspects.
 
Where's the optimism ppl? So negative sheesh...lol capcom stated they wanted DD to be one of the standout graphical showpieces on PS4. And now this pledge to support the game for over decade. To me, that simply sounds like an ambitious project that perhaps got revealed too early. I dunno, capcom still makes amazing games, I'm hopeful this will be another one.
 
Sounds like Destiny. Pay $60 up front for some of the game, but keep forking over cash across several years to get the most out of it. So, just like with Destiny, I won't go anywhere near it.

I think people are being pessimistic because it just sounds like a conceited statement by Capcom.
in my opinion, games like LoL, WoW are supported for a long time not because the company says they are, but because their just good games. And the fact that Capcom even announces this before the game is even out and there is rare gameplay footage of the game is kind of worrying.
 
the 15 year thing doesnt sound too crazy when you look at titles like WoW and FFXI. im sure there will be expansions as it translates over to each generation... but i can see Deep down being a F2P title that is built to cross different generations while still supporting all users.

We're negative because originally the beta was due this month last year to coincide with the PS4 launch in Japan and was pushed into 2015. :P
 
I don't see this working out without a PC port in the works. They plan on supporting PS4 players for 15 years? That doesn't sound right, but maybe I'm just worried.
 
This is going to be a disaster. A great concept will be taken and spread as thin as possible to make an MMO that will need to nickel and dime its customers to survive 15 years.
 
Isn't MH Frontier G the ugly, micro-transaction-filled bastard son of Monster Hunter? Expectations for DD lowering...

Everything I saw of the game looked great, kind of MH meets Dark Souls. But everything they say about it makes me worried :/
 
I sort of read it as Capcom wanting to do something like this for 15 years past tense, but now I see how he said it. What an odd thing to do on a F2P that could easily flop.

Those games are full fledged MMOs though. They have more content than an online dungeon crawler.
