Anime for soneone who doesn't like anime in general?

What do I mean by this?
Well I dislike animes with
- too much otaku pandering fanservice (Can tolerate in small amounts)
- Poorly done action scenes. I mean, have some well done actions or don't have any at all please. (This category is not as important)
- Overly gory anime that just wants to shock audiences. I can tolerate gore, I'm watching Pyscho-Pass and that level is okay. What's not okay? Gantz, which I felt was just gorey to be SOEDGY....
Yea, I did finish it, but mainly to say I finished it.
- Typical anime stuff like moe (I think. Not really well versed in anime terms) and realy tropey filled anime
I feel alot of anime could be shoved into these categories, which is way I said anime in general.

Even if an anime fits into these categories, I will still watch it if they have original ideas or strong characters. So my main qualifier is story.

I know that these kinds of threads are commen, but I'm almost done with PP, and I want to watch another series.

Also: I enjoy all genres of anime from comedy to action to thriller. Thanks.
Edit: My terrible spell checking. Ah. I swear that mistake wasn't there when I proofread my post.
Edit 2: Guess it would be more helpful to mention animes I have watched:
Paranoia Agent
Samurai Champloo
Psycho-Pass
Cowboy Bebop
Trigun

Yea, that's pretty much it. Possibly more but I have a terrible memory.

I think "Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood" is a really great anime for many people and seems to have been a good recommendation to people I've known who didn't like anime.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand alone Complex

tv series or movie

also, don't know the "MOE or tropes" aspects.

Something like AZUMANGA DAIOH would fall in those definitions, but i find it to be a great starter anime and light hearted tromp.

Heck, for more recent ones something like MINAMI- KE

the appeal of anime is that it is so varied and vast, that the japanese have found a way to make an anime out of things you wouldn't think to account for entertainment. Heck, even a cockroach can get an anime and still be entertaining.

Little Witch Academia, charming 20ish minute short.

It's like Disney making an anime.

Edit:
and it's something you can watch without getting weird looks or anyone thinking that you're a raging pervert.

Avatar: TLA/Korra - American made but very anime-styled

Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. (if you like the Deus Ex games, it's pretty much that... in Japan)

Space Brothers

In the summer of 2006, Mutta Nanba and his younger brother, Hibito, witness what they believe to be a UFO, which flies off towards the moon. Hibito decides he will go onto the moon whilst Mutta decides he will aim for Mars. Nineteen years later, in the year 2025, and Hibito has become a fully fledged JAXA astronaut assigned to go on a mission towards the moon. Mutta, on the other hand, has not been so successful in achieving his dreams. As Mutta eventually recalls his past ambitions, he receives a letter stating he has been accepted to join a JAXA training program for new astronauts. The series follows Mutta as he seeks to become an astronaut and achieve his longtime dream just like his brother did.

My favourite anime. I love how normal the MC is and how he's thinking what the audience is thinking.

Edit: I just want to mention there is no moe/fanservice crap in this anime. Just the story of a regular guy wanting to become an astronaut, and all the hardships he goes through.

I think "Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood" is a really great anime for many people and seems to have been a good recommendation to people I've known who didn't like anime.

Came here to say this. FMA: Brotherhood is just a really well done piece of fiction however you look at it, and is definitely worth a watch. Just make sure you don't accidentally watch the original FMA anime instead of Brotherhood, since Brotherhood is the only one that actually follows the manga's plot.

Hunter X Hunter - subverts many of the shonen (fighting animes with super powers targeted at boys ages 7 to 14) tropes

Darker than Black - an anime that realistically portrays super power fights (they are more efficient than flashy) and all the baggage that comes with it.

Gintama, perhaps?

It usually mocks the otaku culture and pokes fun at moe quite a bit, most of the characters are older and deal with more adult issues, and it's really funny yet with quite a bit of touching moments as well. It isn't as arc-heavy as a lot of other anime, so you can jump into a lot of episodes without needing to know too much about what happened beforehand. There's a few anime tropes played straight (how do you feel about the straight-man routine in comedy?), but overall it's really enjoyable to a person who isn't too deep into the genre, like me.

People often call it the "Japanese Family Guy", but that's a bit misleading since it's smarter than Family Guy, definitely. I'd probably call it the "Japanese American Dad", myself. It's on Crunchyroll...the first few episodes are a bit slow, and the real brilliance of the show shines through though once you get into the later episodes, and pick up on the myriad in-jokes and references.

Watch Baccano. It's comedy, action and thriller all in one package. It's amazing and it isn't too long so it speeds along, and you won't be easily bored.

My friend wasn´t a fan of anime. He did however enjoy Bleach for some reason (Soul Society arc) and he also enjoyed Attack on Titan. I would personally recommend Death Note tough.

Lupin the Third. There's like five shows and a bunch of specials, and a new show is on the way. It doesn't really feel like an anime at all in my opinion.

Monster.

It's a masterpiece that easily surpasses the quality of many of the most celebrated TV shows. It's mature, it has 0 anime clichées and characters that you will remember.

Fate/Zero - really good action series with bits of gore.

Edit: And it's from the writer of Psycho-Pass.

Of less actiony things:

Serial Experiments Lain - mindfuck in concise form

Ergo Proxy - mindfuck in a not so concise form.

House of Five Leaves - very atmospheric and mellow Samurai character drama. Don't expect any fighting.
