So Ken Levine wants to work on a new game with a smaller team, so the solution is to shut the company down and fire all but 15 people?
don't worry, 2K will turn bioshock into a F2P multiplayer shooterRIP Bioshock
What the hell were the expectations for it? It sold over 4m units in four months.
What? Wow. and like others my first thought was Bioshock Vita too lol.
But Bioshock Vita...

I want to say it seems selfish because he's laying people off through a personal desire to make a different type of him. But I'm sure there's more to it than that, as other people have mentioned with the sales numbers.

I am winding down Irrational Games as you know it. I’ll be starting a smaller, more entrepreneurial endeavor at Take-Two. That is going to mean parting ways with all but about fifteen members of the Irrational team. There’s no great way to lay people off, and our first concern is to make sure that the people who are leaving have as much support as we can give them during this transition.

When I first contemplated what I wanted to do, it became very clear to me that we were going to need a long period of design. Initially, I thought the only way to build this venture was with a classical startup model, a risk I was prepared to take. But when I talked to Take-Two about the idea, they convinced me that there was no better place to pursue this new chapter than within their walls. After all, they’re the ones who believed in and supported BioShock in the first place.
it went through a bunch of changes and development hell tho didn't it? that probably made it worst budget wise
So much for Bioshock on Vita
Yeah. sound like the right solution was for him to quit and start his own company. Not this.So Ken Levine wants to work on a new game with a smaller team, so the solution is to shut the company down and fire all but 15 people?
