They were gimmicky, poorly balanced with either practically no effect on the game or just downright broken.

Focus on interesting and balanced weapon variety, quality netcode, and most importantly map design putting powerful weapons at focal points. Ordnance drops and loadouts were the two worst things to happen to Halo multiplayer.

Halo is their most important IP by a mile and this will be the big game of their press conference. This is not really a pre-E3 announcement. This is more of them saying, "hey guys, remember that Halo teaser we showed you last year, well you guys were right, it's Halo 5. Here's the dope box art. See you at E3!"

I am guessing as there are two characters we will:

  • Switch between them as in Halo 2, or
  • Have an AI companion follow you around as in Halo 3, or
  • The game is designed for a co-op experience

Love the box art, and the desert like premise. Reckon we'll get some gorgeous UC3 style desert levels.

Be interesting to see how the game looks given it's aiming for 60fps, and how it looks on release compared to whatever they show at the next two E3's.

The desert theme is exciting, some glimpses of architecture as well in those screens/boxart.

After 4, i have zero faith in 343i. I was a massive Halo fan, have all the games, some of the books, figures, a UNSC t-shirt.. etc...but Halo 4 was such a massive mis-step that it pretty much made my decision to get a PS4 over a bone. I knew once i did that QTE ending, that i had no desire to see anything else 343 had in store for Halo and that i was doen with the franchise.

Its not going to be there :(
As long as the ports are 1080p with 60fps then they have my money
Its not going to be 60fps

Also it would of been nice for them to port over Halo 1 Anniversary, to complete the package.

I don't disagree that Ordnance or Loadouts were broken and hurt the game. You take away my jetpack though and it will have to be out of my cold dad hands. Fuck that noise. Reach was poorly balanced, the AA in 4 are really fun.

The percentage of 'game' that the QTE segments make up is statistically negligible. It's a bigger hassle to switch literally any option in the pause menu than what those represented.

It's pretty insane that there's a box art out for a game that won't be coming til Fall 2015. To put that into perspective, Star Wars will be coming out only a couple months later and the Avengers 2 will already be either lauded or hated thoroughly by GAF.

Box art looks really excellent. That has to be Palmer. I thought this wasn't dropping till E3 MS is turning all their clocks forward.

I'll never understand the hate Halo 4 gets on here. I love it. Favourite of the series after Halo 3 and ODST.
