Using her name just sounds more natural, these are people who have grown together.

Plus it's weird since they've already used Cat in the show, quite a lot of times actually.

Yeah, that's more my criticism. Having LF awkwardly avoid using Catelyn's name when they're two people that would know Cat by name since they both knew her very well. To me, it seemed very awkward. The scene was otherwise great, but the succinct nature of LF just saying "Only Cat" then the push got muddled in the show.

Man, that scene with Oberyn and Tyrion was fantastic. Gonna miss Pedro. :(

'Only cat' argument just reinforces how pointless I think the book purist approach is.

Was Gregor dubbed? I was expecting it before the season started so it wouldn't surprise me if he was.

I could have swore he was. I was thinking that before this season that the new Gregor's english didn't seem great in some interviews and videos I saw with him. And yet the one line he had in this episode seemed to sound an awful lot like Season 2 Gregor, Ian Whyte. Which is cool, since Whyte had a pretty cool Christopher Lee sounding voice.

Why was Gregor just randomly killing dudes in the beginning? I know that's kind of his thing, but I have to imagine even Tywin isn't cool with him doing that with random people off the street of Kings Landing.

I assume they were prisoners.

Other +s: the Daenerys scene, and I loved how the snowcastle scene focused to show Lysa. Beautiful.

I would bang a hot farmer!
In a vacuum, only Cat vs only your sister is pretty indifferent as far as which line is better. I bet it was only jarring to book readers.
I agree about neither of the two being better than the other but we're not in a vacuum.

His morning calisthenics.

We know from the first book that hair color and genetics are very important to George R. R. Martin. He's gone to say that genetics in his world are not the same as real-life genetics. If Jaime and Cersei's parents are Aerys (straight white hair) and Joanna (straight blonde hair), they wouldn't have curly hair. Tyrion's hair is a mottled pale blonde and black mix, which is probably from a birth defect more than anything else, as all three of his proposed parents were blonde.

Very important.

Every book reader has their own "only cat"

You guys are complaining about the dumbest stuff.

Lets talk about actual changes. Did Dany actually skip all the extremely horrible Dhaario inner monologue shit and go right for the cock?! I already think what they are doing with the Dance storylines are better than the books.

Also what is with Shireen? Book 6 spoiler?

Yeah, I love all the tweaks to the forthcoming content.

They nailed Bronn's departure. I swear it was 1:1 to the book.

Gonna miss that guy.

Was more surprised at no bard than no 'only Cat'.

Oh man... guys...

We just probably saw the last scene with Bronn and Tyrion. Unless they have Bronn help Jaime with Tyrion's escape. Which might work as an excuse to have Bronn go to the Riverlands with Jaime...

Oberyn has been so great in the show. Pedro Pascal has been awesome in the role. I am so excited for the trial by combat.

That scene got me so fucking pumped for the combat. But so sad of it's like the book. I mean that interaction was so powerful and seeing Tyrion tearing up when Oberyn described his reaction. Man, I don't want Oberyn to go. It's one show rewrite I wouldn't mind if they let him just outright kill Ser Gregor.

Oberyn is a dead man. I just pray we don't have to see his face slowly caved in.

I actually really hope they show Gregor caving in Oberyn's face. Its not enough to kill off a charismatic guy like Oberyn cleanly like Ned's beheading, its the fact that his face gets pounded in that makes it even more gut wrenching. The brutality of it was shocking when I read it in the book, which is saying something for a pretty violent series.

I hope they don't change oberyn's lines. Having him repeat what he says multiple times will make it the new inigo Montoya you killed my father line in popular culture.

Hbo pls

For fucks sake D&D, was "Only Cat" too fucking hard to get right?

First you screw up by Lysa spilling her guts way too early, and now you can't even stick the landing.

I'm not even a book purist, I welcome positives changes. Shit, terrible changes like these can do one.

On a positive, the Oberyn scene gave me absolute chills. The schadenfreude will be one for the ages ;_;

...and make Jaime practice his left handed sword skills with Bronn considering that we don't have Ser Ilyn Payne

Besides the line change, I thought the shot of Lysa actually falling out of the moon door looked odd. Whether that was the green screen or whatever, something looked sort of off.

From the point of view of the season pacing, it had to be done here. Next ep will certainly end with the Viper's death. Ep 9 will be The Wall, and 10 will end with Tywin and Shae's death.

I think the problem was that they should have had Littlefinger and Sansa get there earlier so Lysa had more time to be reintroduced to the audience.

And talking about Tywin and Shae's death, I kind of hope Jorah's dismissal isn't until next season. Unless they do it next episode, I think it will just be drowned out by the death of Tywin.

They'll change it to "My name is Oberyn Martell. You killed my sister. Prepare to die." as an homage and people will say it doesn't matter. :p

They made her a secret male too? Shocking liberties have been taken! To reddits and tumblrs!

He was talking about Stannis, not Shireen.

I really hope Shireen is a ruler. Maybe the Delicate Stag will rule the Stormlands in vassalage to Queen Daenerys and king Jon.
