while it doesn't look bad (actually, it looks really great), i really hope that From isn't going to take the Souls template and employ it x many times and just alter little things

Well they'll have The Order, Uncharted and possibly TLG so it totally depends on the kind of game that excites you. For many people a 'next-gen' Souls game is bigger than any of those - hence all the hype. It's subjective.

Between this announcement and whatever is brewing in the Xbox thread with regard to an exclusive third party game for X1, I'm curious as to which one will be bigger.
i have never met anyone irl who has played shadowtower, i also am kind of suspicious over people who refer to it with some sort of excited nostalgia.

If people want to be technical due to recent releases, we could say that we have no way of knowing what the game will really look like until a release copy ends up in someone's hands.
If you want to be that skeptical, there's really no point of posting in these hype threads.
I have a hard time envisioning anything MSFT could announce that could be bigger than this.
Beast Souls is like the Game of Thrones of gaming right now - total "game" changer, double pun intended.

It doesn't look like that to me. I can count as many differences as similarities.
Same:
fog gate
character run animation
some elements of the art direction
Different:
setting/time period
technology/weapons
clothing
There's too little to go on regarding whether the combat will be mostly the same or drastically different.
I'm not going to be surprised if this doesn't have Souls in the title and splits the difference between the traditional elements of Souls games and something else entirely.

Well if GAF is anything to go buy this game will be. Over 70 pages in less than 24 hours compared to 30 some pages for the Xbone exclusive.
But we also kinda know what this is at the same time and don't know what the other game will be, so that could be a the difference. That said, this thread blew up quick, GAF just exploded. One of the fastest moving threads I've seen.

I just posted Vaati's video and went by what he was saying.Personally i haven't played Shadow Tower and i think Project Beast looks way more like a Souls game (in a different setting) than anything else.
Have you played Shadow Tower?Do you think Vaati has played it or is he making the connection just because of the gothic setting and guns?Maybe they were inspired by some aspects just like people say that Demon's was inspired by some aspects of the King's Field games.
Damn, his voice would be perfect for this, should get him to narrate the intro as well.

I legit forgot that if this was on PS4, that was possible.
the Xbone could get 3 exclusives for all I care. They are seriously going to have to impress us with a lot of different stuff to top ps4. Halo 5 just wont do.
For some reason, the notion of a PS exclusive Souls game is a shocker to people. It's not like the series started on PS and Sony realized their mistake for not publishing it in the West and are trying to make up for it now. It can't be that.

I think it was EpicNameBro who made that gesture very famous with the fans because he was always using it after his boss fights. Some other Dark Souls youtubers tried to copy that after a while though.
I can see them doing a Square Enix like last year. The crowd reaction when KH3 came on screen was wild.

Nope. Movies, music, SCE, and Insurance. Their phone business is on its way to profitability. To be honest, its TV and PC that's holding them down. They're in the process of a painful flushing of the PC division, and TV has steadily lost less and less year to year. Sony actually added to their cash flow this year, so it's not as dire as people might think.
