What? Breaking Bad is definitely not misplaced. Far from it actually.

I understand that a lot of people seem to like Breaking Bad for some reason but I feel it's outclassed by every other show in it's category and have felt that way since I watched it last year. Can't wait to stop seeing it show up in the Emmys.

Bryan Cranston's a great actor though and totally deserved to win, I'll give him that, just not this year.

Lead Actor in a Drama
Bryan Cranston
Jeff Daniels
Jon Hamm
Woody Harrelson
Matthew McConaughey
Kevin Spacey

Woody got this.

Wait, you're allowed to nominate two actors from the same show as dual leads? I figured Woody was going to have to get stuck running for best supporting.

That's actually one of the shittier drama lineups in recent years.

Mad Men and Breaking Bad obviously deserve it.

Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Downton Abbey (lol), and True Detective don't. (Sorry, just wasn't a fan of TD.)

AND HOLY GOD PLEASE SOMEONE NOMINATE THE ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT RECTIFY FOR SOMETHING. PLEASE.

EDIT: Come to think of it, Rectify wouldn't be eligible this year since its first season would have fallen under last year's Emmys, but it still would have gotten completely ignored, and will be completely ignored next year.

Sherlock got 12 nominations? It better win them all. How does that work with it being a BBC show? Technically could Doctor Who have been nominated?

I think it's junk food entertainment at best. Certainly watchable. Going through season two, I don't know how some saw a high caliber drama in there but to each their own.
I really enjoy House of Cards, but The Good Wife really deserves a nomination more.

Not sure if serious. Matthew was pretty much gifted this from everyone the moment he won his Oscar.

No he didn't. The emmys have proved time and time again that Oscar winners do not get special consideration. If they did then Kevin Spacey would have won last year.

Downton Abbey nominated for best drama ahead of Good Wife and Hannibal.

First person I've seen here or on reddit that shares my disbelief that The Good Wife and Hannibal were snubbed for Downtown Abbey, or even (yes I'm going there) True Detective, Game of Thrones, or House of Cards. I watch all of these shows, and TGW and Hannibal are definitely top 5 on TV, but neither get the attention they deserve.

At the very least, TGW's got the acting categories pretty much locked down except for lead actor. I think they all have very high odds of winning their categories (except Dylan Baker, how the hell did he even get in there?) Mikkelsen and Dancy getting snubbed for acting too is just too much, though.

Breaking Bad will win in the 'Drama Series' category, but Matthew McConaughey will win the best lead actor.

Hope that Fargo will take the cake in the 'Outstanding Miniseries' category.

See my previous post.

I'm aware that it's largely up to the networks to choose what category they'd like to submit the shows in. What I'm saying is that the TV Academy should more clearly define the miniseries category and police the nomination process just a little bit.

Because it is absolutely ridiculous that True Detective and Fargo/AHS are in different categories. (Well, it's utterly ridiculous that AHS is nominated for anything, but I've been saying that for three years now.)

I really don't care if they're classified as dramas or as miniseries, but they should clearly be in the same category.

No he didn't. The emmys have proved time and time again that Oscar winners do not get special consideration. If they did then Kevin Spacey would have won last year.

The fact he can win both in the same year is a completely different circumstance than Spacey.

Oh, bitch bitch bitch.
House of Cards is so out of place. OitNB is in the comedy category and its a better drama.

Sorry but Orange is the New Black is one of the worst shows I've ever seen. Unbearable.

House of Cards shouldn't be there but whatever, it's fine for a junk food show.

And then the LORD David Bowie saith to his Son, Jonny Depp: 'Go, and spread my image amongst the cosmos. For every living thing is in anguish and only the LIGHT shall give them reprieve.'
If they consider Fargo a miniseries, then they should consider True Detective a miniseries.

I'm trying to remember: Is this for OITNB's first or second season?

Both seasons are exceptional, but I'm just trying to recall which this is for.

I hope Breaking Bad doesn't clean up. The last half of season 5 was nowhere close to the quality of most of the others in the drama category.

You have absolutely horrible taste.

I mean it's not as bad as Walking Dead or anything. But practically every character is just aggravating beyond toleration. And although many of them were written to be stupid, the subpar writing itself causes irritation as a byproduct rather than the desired effect.

What season of Hannibal would have been the focus of the Emmy's? Sorry, I don't fully understand what seasons are primarily referenced each year (the latest one or the one before that or does it not matter at all)? Season 1 I could understand, season 2 is single-handedly superior to most of those shows being nominated.

Either way, Hannibal being snubbed is absurd at this point.
