PS4 was about double Xbox One's sales in May wasn't it?
If so that doesn't sound too impressive. I mean sure it doubled. But it doubled to reach PS4 level...
It was closer to triple than double actually. Like 77K to 194K+

Even if somehow MS wins November it won't be by much and earl;y next year Sony has a better line up with The Order and Bloodborne so there going to get further away.
Aaaw I wanted the Wii U to outsell the xb1. Maybe in September.
What comes out for Wii U in September?
So the numbers the PS4 is selling aren't good ? Saying any product is selling at a rate qualitative to that of the PS4 is impressive.
lol, they would have gone with almost 300% in that case.
Man, where does Microsoft go from here?
Can't really cut the price again soon, and the Halo collection is a long ways away.
Think you are being harsh saying better when we don't know the full line ups of either system
It has to be really close to the 160-170k range. If it were even +125% (or especially +150%) they'd have used that more-impressive-sounding number instead of just "doubled". +125% would be ~175k. +150% would be ~195k, meaning that even bragging that wouldn't have been enough to beat Sony, putting the PS4 at 200k+ regardless. So does that mean it'll have sold in the region of 155k or more? Also, doesn't this PR and number almost imply that the PS4 sold more than the Xbox One this month, despite the new $399 Xbox One SKU?
Could be 200K+ for all we know. We'll find out tomorrow.
This statement is pretty much "Sales increased a whole lot... but we still weren't #1 for the month".
Yep (as I said above).
It was closer to triple than double actually. Like 77K to 194K+
I hope your hope never comes to pass. That would just open the doors for console parity and no one outside of Redmond wants that. If it wasn't for the low sales Microsoft would still be pushing their vision of the future.
Even if somehow MS wins November it won't be by much and early next year Sony has a better line up with The Order and Bloodborne so there going to get further away.
Hm, I don't know.
Still have a problem calling it a "price drop" :/
Has Bloodborne actual gameplay been shown as of yet? All I remember is that trailer that was not gameplay, but have we seen actual gameplay of the game yet?
So we are seeing a jump of 2x sales after a decent price cut, but even those numbers are looking low compared to the competition? Worrying if true...I can imagine some utterly terrible numbers for July / Aug / Sep as demand right now, right after a price cut, is still fairly low.
Aqua, correct me if I'm wrong:
Xboxone April 2014 total (4 weeks): 115K for a weekly average of 28.75K
Xboxone May 2014 total (4 weeks): 77K for a weekly average of 19.25K
Xboxone June 2014 total (5 weeks): ~155K for a weekly average of 31K
So it's slightly above the weekly total before the price cut/unbundling was announced.

As to be expected with the kinectless SKU.
200k would have been "sales nearly tripled".
Still doesn't sound as good/catchy (for lack of a better way for me to put it) as "more than double" IMO.
Also, I'm not saying it did sell 200K+ either... I did predict 180K and so far it seems like I was spot on. Like I said though, we'll find out tomorrow.
Sales should keep improving month to month until January. Only possible month I could see the XB1 beating PS4 in NPD is November or December though.
Good Improvements...but....damn....sooo it didn't even outsold the PS4 even with that price tag ......
Good to hear, hopefully it's back on track after an abysmal May/April.
This has to be the least effective price drop I have ever witnessed.

77 x 2 = 154
77 x 3 = 231
I could see them using either terms ("more than double" or "sales nearly tripled") if the system was at around 185-205K. Again though, I don't how they determine their statements. Tomorrow will show where things are really at.
early next year Sony has a better line up with The Order and Bloodborne so there going to get further away.
So I think the people at MS are not worried; they probably never expected to come out on top this month.
At 200k They'll say "almost triple"
At 180K they'll say "more than 130% increase in sales", which is better/catchier than "more than double"
Ehhhh
Every person saying the bolded makes Zero sense.
How would becoming the same price as its competitor suddenly skyrocket sales?
Maybe.....that is maybe.......if it had undercut $399 it would have.
I think my guess was 160k
