Persona 5 also launching on PS4, releasing 2015 ["waifu"/"husbando" crap = ban]

Between this and the news headlines... Let me guess, the underlying story will be:
Humans don't trust each other anymore and are slaves to their miniature electronic devices, so Masakado wants to destroy the world with fire/shadows/fireshadows/zawarudo.
That's what I would guess as well. Or slaves towards social media in addition to thier phones. Don't know how many times I hung out with people and they whip out thier cell phones..

I wish the animation style was like the previous games, those colours look so bland. Maybe that's for a reason though
Also the MC is way pretty. They are really baiting the fujoshi audience right off the bat

The curly hair doesn't even do ANYTHING
That MC is one damn sexy metrosexual. Give me dat hair.
lol.

This announcement also confirms that Yoshida has a terrible poker face. Watch his reaction when Colin starts to talk about how he'd asked Atlus about being concerned that P5 was only a PS3 title in the west

Omgomg. Was not expecting Persona of all things to jump aboard the nextgen train so fast!

And that protagonist! <3

Man, I am so hyped for this game. PS4 was completely unexpected but completely AWESOME.

I thought Catherine looked amazing on PS3. If they shoot for similar graphics, but with the PS4.../drool

Also yes I CANNOT WAIT to play as that protagonist. HNNG

Edit: Thinking about it, while the previous release date was "Winter 2014" there were a few people saying that Winter does technically spill in to the next year, so it might not be that huge of a delay. Maybe they're just changing the phrasing?

Someone put the idea of a world wide release in to my head and I can't stop thinking about it. I WOULD BE SO HAPPY IF THAT HAPPENED.

Catherine's style is close to being timeless. I think Catherine will look good no matter how old the game gets.

Aside from being 1080p, 60fps, and going all out with audio, the anime cutscenes, and whatever, I can't see P5 looking any different. Which is a good thing IMO.

It seems obvious that P5 coming to PS4 was thanks to Sony's interference and good for them. It was the right thing to do. Before today's conference I saw few reasons why anyone in Japan would want to jump for a PS4 beyond the shaky (and long term) promise of FFXV and KH3.

Yeah, well done Sony and Atlus.

Not liking the logo for the game, it makes me think of Gran Turismo.
Not liking his outfit either, the random badges and symbols look kinda strange to me.
Still hyped for the game.

Cool news, worth getting a PS4 now, hopefully they don't drag their feet on bringing it to Europe, although I guess the US version will be region free anyway.

need to take a selfie with your smartphone

It could work. Take a picture of your self to bring out your inner self. The Persona comes out of the phone after the picture is taken.

Do it Atlus.

Healing is done by uploading the selfie to social media.

Definitely. They translated Soejima's style so well to 3D. It's one of the best anime aesthetics I've seen.

I wonder if they'll bring back the mail app from Catherine. It would be a nice touch to raise SL points via messaging.

Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Thank god for that, and for Atlus USA's sake. Releasing a PS3 game in late 2015 or even 2016 while missing out on PS4 sales momentum would have been fucking stupid.

Even still, missing the entire HD generation with this is still somewhat lamentable.

I hate Evokers because Persona 3, for whatever reason, wanted to come across as grimdark as possible.

That whole fluke with the intro where that girl (forget her name...the one who uses the bow and is in pink) was in the bathroom with the gun, looking like she was about to commit suicide.

That shit was disgusting. Yeah, I got used to it as I played through the game, but at no point did I see anything narratively needing them to have items that looked like guns to be pointed at their heads, pulling the triggers, to summon their personas.

P3 almost fetishizes the act. It's gross. I chalk up the decision to have the character shoot themselves in the head repeatedly was because Atlus had little awareness of the actual age demographic they wanted to portray.

I understand it looks cool, but considering folks actually shoot themselves in the head, kids and adults both, I strongly disagree with Evokers being used in P3 as being good or even anything close to being praised. To gamify such an act without taking into consideration the gravity behind why people actually shoot themselves in the head, IMO, is a serious lapse of judgement from the creators of P3 who, again, made a game to portray youth of a certain age demographic.

*steps off soapbox*

Well this is some unexpected but very good news. On a sad note though it probably does mean that my PS3 is now retired. As Persona 5 was the last game i was ever planning on getting for it. Though I will probably still take it out once in a while when i get the urge to play some older games.

The entire overarching theme of the game is facing the inevitability of your own death.
