Oh the memories.

MS will probably push the ID@Xbox thing for more Japanese developers. I know they have a few already but it will be interesting to see if anyone else jump onboard.

Everything we've seen seems to indicate Sony's still much friendlier than Xbox in terms of indie development. Would be really surprised if they managed to net more JP support, especially on the level of last gen, that was completely unprecedented and sad, considering it still went on to sell like butt in Japan.

It's also supposed to be launching in Portugal this month, I think. There's about as much excitement over here about it.

I read somewhere that Destiny pre-orders on the X1 are sold out in Fnac. It's weird.

EDIT: They are sold out. They probably don't have tons of units to sell but still, someone is buying it here.

4th week? I'd say it'll hit the current PS4 baseline in the 2nd week.

Dunno. My guess for it's sales trajectory is 30k - 10k - 8k - 5k - dead

Its sales will certainly be catastrophic and you might be right, but I want to give it some dignity at least lol

I doubt the system will have any legs barring some exclusive that genuinely appeals to japanese gamers.

I think it will exceed most expectations in the first week, but it will probably die instantly afterwards.

It'll probably stand a good chance to beat WiiU/PS4 next week. Surely it'll sell over 8k?

I'd really like to see it not sell horribly as I'm interested in some of the Japanese exclusives
that aren't coming here.

Famitsu review scores for xbone games:

Crimson Dragon (XBO) – 7/7/6/7 [27/40]
Dead Rising 3 (XBO) – 8/9/7/9 [33/40]
Forza Motorsport 5 (XBO) – 7/9/8/9 [33/40]
Kinect Sports Rivals (XBO) – 6/7/7/7 [28/40]
Max: The Curse of Brotherhood (XBO) – 7/8/8/7 [30/40]
Ryse: Son of Rome (XBO) – 8/7/7/7 [29/40]
Zumba Fitness: World Party (XBO) – 7/7/7/6 [27/40]

7 for Forza is pretty ridiculous. Also, I'm surprised DR3 scores aren't higher. The other games I understand.

If it sells horribly wouldn't those developers just go to Playstation? Besides, xbox is FINALLY region free, so importing won't be a clusterfuck like it is on 360 anyway. And digital importing is allegedly super easy too though I can't speak to that. I guess small JP devs would be more likely to be digital only this gen than last?

That is pretty much a given unless an unprecedented disaster occurs :D
But I'm expecting a 30k debut week, so 3DS will stay on top and maybe even Vita might do better.

I'm sure all the media shit is borked for the Japanese as it was for every country outside of 'murica at launch.

Japan is a lost cause for MS... nothing to see here

It's important they still try. Each console should be available worldwide, with region specific games, stores and support. And if some MS money gets injected into studios over there, so much the better.

I guess what might also hurt it is that some hardcore Xbox fans probably already imported one from the US.
