Where's the cheapest to get Forza Horizon 2? These are the countries I've used in the past but man India seems to have gone up quite a bit. Any other countries worth checking out?

Hong Kong - £34.39
India - £35.33
Canada - £36.22
US - £37.30
Also how about Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor?

No, preordering over the hk store works fine for me

are the games cheaper than in hong kong in the indian store ?

some are slightly cheaper, alien isolation is roughly 35€ on the indian and 36 on the HK, so not that big of a difference. Some are even a lot more expensive on the indian store, like evil within.

I hope they haven't permanently hiked foreign marketplace prices. I preordered horizon 2 for approximately £27 from the Indian marketplace.

Prices in developing/Asian markets vary a lot more than they do in the West. North America and Europe have fairly consistent pricing models whereas even in Japan things can fluctuate massively. E.g. a first-party Western game like Halo can be bought for an RRP of around $45-50 in Japan but the latest Final Fantasy will be closer to $90.

The publishers will get to choose how they price on a case by case basis in the likes of India whereas they are stuck with a retailer-driven pricing model in the US, UK, Canada, Germany etc.

How much are these in US dollars? also, do they count toward xbox rewards?

Yes, if Xbox Rewards is active for the region. I think the downside is that you have a separate Rewards account for each regional store.

Aren't Xbox Rewards only for the United States? I'm quite sure that none of the European stores have them at least anyway and the UK would be a far more likely candidate for something like that than Asia.

The Program is open to legal residents of the 50 United States (and the District of Columbia), the United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Italy, Spain, Taiwan, Sweden and Brazil who are 13 years and older at the time of enrollment. Void where prohibited by law.

I've bought Forza Horizon 2 from the US store and D4 from Hong Kong and as far as I can see they haven't been added to my rewards account (which is UK based).

The savings are more than the rewards given so it isn't too bad.

Sorry, I was thinking of that Bing rewards thing that the Americans get but nobody else does (at least when I last checked anyway). I'd forgotten about Xbox rewards and you just reminded me to check mine which had quite a few thousand points on it. Do the transactions take a while to show up though? As I've purchased a few things recently from Hong Kong etc but they're not showing up on my statement either so maybe it is just tied into a single regional account.

A couple questions about switching my Xbox store region to Hong Kong:
1) is there a way to tell if a game isn't in English? I assume that they all are and always will be
2) is dlc region free (I.e. can I buy Dlc from one region and use it with my game from a different region)

Thanks

Japanese games like Chaos;Child are not in English. It varies by the game and country of origin. I wouldn't be surprised if some Asian ports of English games end up excluding English, however infrequently.

I'm pretty positive you can just go to the us region and download/use it from there in english. Also I think the marketplace descriptions mention languages.

Ok checked the Evil Within prices again

HK 429$ HK = 55,30$ US
India 4300 RS= 70,09$ US
Hungary 19450HF= 79,95$ US

So HK it is, unless someone found any lower prices...

Chaos;Child is not even available as a downloadable game. But no, the demo is not playable in English either. This is not unusual for Japanese games, where the studio likely has no English speakers employed and doesn't plan on releasing it in English markets.

Slightly OT but does anyone know if Japanese retail discs will work in an EU region console?

I know that the console is meant to be region free but China is using region locking on Xbox One and most of the Japanese 360 games were region locked whereas NA/EU versions of the same games weren't. I will be in Japan later this year and I'd quite like to bring some games back with me if they will work.

Xbox Rewards are based on your account, you only get rewarded for purchases in your local shop.

Only Chinese games are region-locked (in a manner of speaking). Japanese retail games will play worldwide. That's how I'm having to get Puyo Puyo Tetris in December.

Thanks for the link. It has been really helpful to compare price. I wasn't interested in the next CoD but seeing it at 37€ on the HK store, I think I'll pull the trigger (no pun intendend :) )

If I want to buy games on the HK marketplace, a HK gift card (Play-Asia) suffice or do I need to change my billing address as well?

Thanks for the link. Very useful for the future.

If I buy The Walking Dead off the HK store (31st October release date) will I be able to play it if I change my region to USA where the game is out at the minute?

Yes, gift cards from Play-Asia is the way I do it. Try to keep in mind the time difference, as the codes take longer to arrive outside of normal HK working hours.

Pretty tempted to do this, how much of a saving are we talking about if you're in the UK but buy from the US store?

Lol!

Try buying from the Indian Xbox live store it's even cheaper still!

Alright guys so this is the steps to getting FIFA 15 Ultimate Team Edition for £29!!!! (2900 Rupees).

1. Go to settings, console settings, change location from the UK To India, then press restart.

2. Once its booted up, sign in as yourself and go to store, search for FIFA 15, find the version you would like (Ultimate Team version is only £2 more!), the price is 2900 rupees (£29), if you have EA access then it’s a further 10 % off.

3. Purchase the game with a debit/credit card. Input all correct details, the only parts that you need to fake to be Indian are;
State/Province – Karnataka
Postcode – 576104
Phone number – 918202922323

4. Once you have done, go to settings, console settings, change location back to UK, then press restart.

5. Once booted back up, sign in and go back to FIFA 15 (will be in games/apps area) and it should say ‘Manage’ where you can download.

6) Change your region back when done!

I bought Forza Horizon 2 for £34 and 2 days before European release!

Thank you for the confirmation. But do I still have to change the billing address in my profile? Like for buying from the US store?

No, it's time-locked to the region that you purchased it from.

I need to add a $15 dollar gift card to my account to make a nice $60. Where is the best place to do this as Target is sold out and I want to checkout via PayPal?
