Ha, stealth edit beaten.

Report from the Squid Research Labs. Your main way of painting the ground in ink and attacking enemies is the Paint Gun, which shoots using the ZR button. There's many different types of weapons, including the Charge Gun, which allows you to hit at a distance and the Roller, which is useful in close-range combat.

Report from the Squid Research Labs. You can use 'sub-weapons' by tapping the R-Button. Pictured is the 'Splash Bomb' which explodes, shooting ink over the immeadiate area. It doesn't just hurt your opponents, it also has tactical uses, including distracting enemies or exposing hiding ones, too.

So we have Splatoon PotDs now, huh? Nice! Hopefully NoA and NoE does the same thing (and Miiverse updates would also be cool as well).

Awesome. NoA needs to start giving games twitter accounts. Seems like a great way to spread info and hype.

I wonder if this kind of thing is what they'll try instead of Iwata Asks, I remember Miyamoto said they wanted to come up with a more effective way of communicating about individual games, but that Iwata Asks weren't being read as much as they wanted. The Iwata Asks though tended to be "post mortems" so it could be better to do blog posts/Twitter stuff before the games are out. There were videos and blog posts about Bayonetta 2 that went over the design of the game, as well as interviews with the people who made the game, things I would have expected to see in an Iwata Asks once upon a time.

10 threads of pure hype incoming.

Not until we know of features/characters that may or may not get in.
That's where the Drama comes from, but we don't know much now, except for customizables....

I was joking. :p Obviously this isn't anything like Smash hype.

But it would be pretty interesting if they actually kept going with the Smash approach and were still doing this in say, January.

I swear that guy should change his name to Oblivious. I think this after nearly every post of his.

Hey, if this game WAS developed by one of those lower tier developers, threads like these wouldn't have gone beyond two pages, and you know damn well that's a fact.

There's nothing wrong with distinguishing developers.

Honestly, if the game looked like Splatoon and was published by Nintendo, I think it would have a similar attention no matter the perceived pedigree of the developer. With that said, were Splatoon an indie game, I agree it would potentially have less buzz.
