Hard to directly compare The two as Amazon massively paired down the budget and directed focus elsewhere.
The PC DD market just wasn't profitable enough for them. To be fair, their website isn't exactly set up for it. You have to know what you are searching for and dive through multiple SKUs. It's not like GMG or Steam where everything is laid out on the front page.

Yes, it is. I've never lost a save to uplay, and at least uplay has sales in their losing attempt to compete with other DD vendors. There's absolutely zero reason for RSGC to exist, there's literally nothing it offers consumers.

I can't wait for this but damn why it release a week after SR4 GOOH. Volition would love a delay. I'm still not convinced we'll see it in January.

Last I heard (a few weeks ago) GTAV would be a 46 (or 43 my memory fails me, more than 40 for sure) GB download on PC, I know we are moving to a new CDN in preparation (I work for a software/games retailer). Things could have changed though.
I didn't get any info about the drm/online though.

So my take on this is that they are pretty much going to hike up the price of the Steam versions / keys simply since they are the more sought after. Retail prices for the UK at least are around £35, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Steam versions up to £44. Suffice to say, I will not be buying the game for quite a while since I just don't care to buy a GTA game at those prices. They are not worth that much to me.

Also, I expect a delay. They claimed the game would not be delayed back when the console versions launched. 12 days later they deleted the threads and their own comments denying the delay, and announced the delay. Now there is the same claim that there is no delay, but I suspect otherwise

It probably locks to one RSC profile. And I'm pretty sure that this game wont support family sharing via Steam since it most likely comes with a 3rd party CD Key (and AFAIK none of them work via family sharing if they require 3rd party stuff).

If so, 7 DVDs? Fuck. Man I really hate that Blu-Ray ROM discs didn't catch on after GTA IV tried it. It's either that or try to download 40+GB on my 15Mbps internet.

I'm not too concerned about Rockstar SC. I didn't have any problems with it when installing my retail copy of Max Payne 3. It has an auto-patcher which worked without any issues.

Edit: I'm gonna wait for more confirmation on this shit. How big is GTA V?! Wolfenstein is 50GB (more like 45 actually) and the physical PC version is on 4 DVDs. The PS4 version of GTA V is about the same size. Or does it come with GTA Online already in the box?

Ohhh man don't tell me they are continuing with that worthless garbage Social Club!

I couldn't turn on MP3 for like a month because apparently SC was conflicting with antivirus software, the only thing ever to have a conflict with it BTW.

You haven't purchased a larger drive by then? Do you have a data cap or just a preference for physical?

My data cap is 250GB a month and I have plenty hard drive space (I wouldn't be able to install from the disc otherwise), but I'm stuck on 15Mbps Wi-Fi. A game like GTA V would probably take 12 hours for me to download.

rockstar using rockstar social club, news at 11

Max Payne 3 required activation with it to run, and GTA5 will as well most likely. It is Rockstar's mini uPlay.

GMG gets their keys from publishers. They are not an unauthorized seller that gets keys from retail boxes.

That is the same department that boldly said GTA 5 for the PC was not delayed and will be released alongside the Xbone/PS4 in November 2014. If I remember correctly 2 days later the PC version got delayed. So yeah if they told me I was on fire I would still seek a second opinion.

Outside of the release date we have not seen or heard of anything with regards to the PC version. Hell Rockstar started promotion of the Xbone/PS4 version around 3 weeks before launch. The PC version is fast approaching it's 2 week launch window and we still do not know a single thing about it other than it exists.

I work in retail here in Norway, and looking at one of our distributors it says they are confirmed to get copies the 25th. That doesn't really confirm anything obviously, but thought I'd at least chime in on this

Yep, we haven't got any screenshots, no system requirements, no videos, or any mentions in the newswire, nothing substantial and the game is supposed to be out in little over two weeks. I can understand silence for 4 months before release, but not 3 weeks.
