Majora's Mask 3D |OT| Remakes are a Nice Thing to Have… Heh, heh

So you know the green-haired chick in the mayor's office? You can backflip behind her desk to look at her butt, if anyone's into that kind of thing.

I personally try to examine each character's butt.

Also, there is a photo of a UFO on the wall of Anju's grandmother's bedroom. And she looks suspiciously like an alien. Hmm...

Does losing a bottle ruin getting 100%? Had the stupid bird steal a bottle from me earlier.
I'm nearly 100% positive that you get back anything stolen from you as soon as you time-travel. If you want it back before you time-travel, you can also buy it back from the Curiosity Shop. Nothing is ever gone forever.

Just finished Snowhead, really cool boss.

Overall I'm enjoying it, though I'm not seeing any super stand out characters yet. They've all felt like typical Zelda NPCs so far with maybe a couple that were a tad more interesting. I haven't spent too much time doing side quests though, mainly just got most of the minigame stuff out of the way.

Also thank christ I saw the thing a while back about the Great Fairy mask particles when there's fairies in the room, was able to get them in the first go at Snowhead because of that.

The particles are a lot more subdued than in the N64 version. It's no surprise people aren't putting two-and-two together.

It's amazing the places you can reach with a backflip!

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
I'm still realllly early in(haven't left the town at all yet), but the change they did to the Inn threw me off. The first thing I always do in every MM run is check that place out,
and get the reservation in over the goron that comes in. It doesn't work in this anymore, it looks like you NEED the goron mask.
Seems small, but I wonder why they felt like changing that. I still remember when I first played this back when it came out, I ended up luckily getting in the right timeframe to do that without realizing it and felt like an evil bastard.

On mobile. Seems to require Goron mask, and precise afternoon timing. I love the story scene you get by eavesdropping on Anju and her mom from your room. Good way to get 100 rupees per cycle, too.

No one can resist Link's funky rhythm. No one.

So, like, when you get all the other masks via the method you get that mask, they're all in the form of the source's face. There's, like, at least four I can think of off the top of my head. Why is it that
Kamaro
's Mask turns into some weird bust sewn onto a blank template? Is there any logic for that?

I kind of suspect he's some sort of reference to Japanese folklore, like how Keaton is a kitsune, but I can't find anything to corroborate that.

Zora Link's fast swimming speed (which you now access by pressing R) was the default, and didn't consume magic.

I saw this on youtube comments, I can't test it right now so I'm not sure if it's true or not:

I played the remake. GameXplain did (again) something wrong. You can swim like the original WITHOUT magic. You just have to hold A and press R, then you swim as a dolphin just like in the original. It's simple.

Awesome pic, lol. To answer your question, I think the mask is simply emulating Kamaro's height by making it a head attached to a mask. Also, I think it evokes that form of Japanese theater where the actors/dancers wear all black and puppeteer heads, arms, legs, etc.

I'd rather be able to swim like in the original WITH a full magic bar than have to do so with an empty one. Thankfully I drank Chateau Romani before entering Great Bay so it won't be too much of an issue, but it still sucks.

I thought that comment said that you didn't need magic to do so...? Just hold A and press R.

Gamexplain showed off what happens when you press A & R in their stream and the review, so that comment's wrong in every way. Pressing R while holding A only allows you to do a dash and is still not at all like the original game's swimming

Yeah, but Beef is saying he wishes he could fast swim and still have his magic. In the N64 game, you could fast swim without using magic, which meant you could save your magic for when you wanted to use your force field.

I'm not that far in the game so I don't know what I'll think of the change.

Definitely not true - that executes a dolphin dash which uses up magic. When Link's magic metre runs out, he'll no longer be able to swim continuously in the old "dolphin style." In the original game, he could swim that way indefinitely without magic, simply by default.

I can't really profess to even understand how and why this glitch happens but I found it very amusing (warning, rapidly changing colours):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oe5mD_9WZk
Even the game knows something is wrong when it comes up with ERROR!**** and then traps the player in an infinite cutscene loop.

I've been watching FullGrownGaming mess around with this one, as one of the results this glitch has is the ability to "wrong warp". One such warp allows you to completely skip the Great Bay Temple and the New Wave Bossa Nova by warping directly to the Gyorg boss fight.

I absolutely love crazy sequence breaking like this.

The fairy mask will have a little particle effect around it if there's a fairy still in the room with you. It's the easiest way to find the stray fairies without using a guide.

Ah, I didn't know this! Thanks; I used a guide to clean up remainders in Woodfall and Snowhead, but I'll look for them myself in Great Bay and Stone Tower.

What's the max hearts you can get before entering the 3rd temple? I'm at 12 total hearts right now, and I know the location of 3 more heart containers which I will grab tomorrow.

Wow the second day bomb throwing mini game combines all the mechanics I hate about this game: auto-jumping when close to an edge, having to move to throw the bombs and trying to aim with this camera lol

e: well, at least it didn't have doku flying

Basically playing this for the first time and really feeling it. I don't know whether or not to just complete the temples then look for sidequests, or to distract myself. I wanted to do a sidequest but it required certain items.

As has been said many times, many ways: there are as many ways to play this game as there are ways to eat a Reese's.

Hm, cant find the last fairy in Snowhead and I'm lost on how to make the platform move to the top level. I'm bad at this game :(

For anyone looking to quickly get the Piece of Heart from the bank,
you need to have 5,000 rupees deposited. The quickest way to wait until you have the Light Arrows. On the night of any day, go to east Termina field, near the pillars leading to Ikana Valley, and kill the Blue Bubbles (floating blue skulls) with the Light Arrows. They drop 50 rupees per kill, and are infinitely respawning. There are two at the pillars, and you can rotate in between killing them over and over. If you run out of magic, just roll around the field cutting down bushes to refill. Goes even faster with the Bunny Hood.

I found the fastest way to do it was to put on the Captain's mask and just kill the dancing Redeads in Ikana Castle. They spawn immediately when you exit and enter the room. Drop about 70 rupees every time you kill them all.

What I did was
go to East Clock Town, get the chest from the Bomber's hideout on the left with the bomb mask and then grab the chest on top of one of the buildings in the same part of the town. 200 Rupees every cycle and with the bunny mask it shouldn't take longer than a minute for each cycle. Reset time and repeat.

How I did it was to go to Zora Cape and do the game on the beach with the pots 6 times to get 500 rupees to fill your wallet then I'd warp back to Clock Town, deposit my rupees, and warp back to Zora Cape to repeat. With the song of inverted time it was easy to warp back and forth between Clock Town and Zora Cape to get it done in a day cycle with the 2500 I already had in the bank.

Not sure if this needs to be spoiler tagged but another quick method is to just take out the
Takkuri bird in Termina Field near the Milk Town entrance. It drops 200 rupees when you kill it. Go back into Clock Town and go back out and it's there again.

There's so many cool ways to get tons of money in this game. It's probably a result of the resetting wallet, as it would be annoying to need to go back to clock town all the time, so they just put 20+ rupee chests all over.

I usually will go for the
bombable wall in the Bomber Hideout
, followed by the
chest above the shooting gallery
, the
kill big Dodongos in the path to the mountains. Big Dodongos drop 50 rupees each, and there's 2 aboveground and 2 belowground. If you kill the 2 above, then kill the 2 in the hole, the 2 above will respawn. Goron link kills them in 3 hits and has a really good block.
This gives you exactly 500 rupees every time and only takes a couple minutes. You can also do it as early as the second cycle.

For another 100 rupees while in Clock Town,
go to the Stock Pot Inn in the afternoon and check into your room as a Goron — there's a 100-rupee chest inside.

Received it yesterday.

Game looks gorgeous. Plays much quicker...

I'm just putzing around trying to remember how to advance stories before Woodfall.

Very cool. Definitely looks like an upgrade over OoT 3D. Geometry wise it's on another level.

I was playing a shooting, moving gallery game using the gyro and at a particular point the gyro would suddenly flip me around as if it were being reset. Prevents me from getting an ultimate score.

Is it common, a hardware fault or a glitch in the mini game? In the swamp cruise.

Did you catch all the fish in both fishing holes, including Lord Chapu-Chapu and the Great Fairy Fish?

It's a glitch that also happened to me later in the game. Sometimes it happens.
