I feel like Bloodborne doesn't want me to play the bosses with maximum challenge.
I get that some of you are FROM game masters and are doing a lot of bosses first try etc.
And mastering the intended boss mechanics most of the time looks like a lot of fun.

I would love to practice each boss solo over and over until I master the mechanics and beat the boss fight. I would even stock up on potions so that I have lots of them and don't need to worry about replenishing them right away etc.

What I have no interest in doing is having some long several minute boss approach sequence every single time I wipe. I don't want to run across the map over and over again. Not being able to start directly at a lot of bosses and being forced to spend several "no fun" minutes getting back to them after spending 40 "no fun" seconds on a loading screen, really makes me totally un-interested in putting the time in to master each boss battle.

I'd rather summon help and get through it that way.

You might be doing this already but almost every boss in every Souls game can be sprinted to. When I find myself just trying to go for a boss I run past everything as soon as I spawn, but yea I hear you about the loading times. Fucking outrageous especially if you're in a bad slump or something and have a bunch of fast careless deaths :(

Game should have been patched day one imo. Going from DS2 PC loading to this is really painful.

Ok I'm almost done with the 5th boss.
The question is:
how do I avoid those giant snakes? They killed me 3 times in a row

So what are thoughts on the best all-around armor (well, clothing I suppose) in the game? I've gotten several sets already, but nothing really seems to stand out as glaringly better. I like that. I just don't have the time to sit and compare all the stats. Anyone have a recommendation?

I'm just wearing what I think looks the best

Nope. Let's try a password to be sure, though.

chalky

Use that.

Been literally standing here for what, 4 minutes now, and it just won't summon you. This is a bit ridiculous. I'm gonna quit soon anyway so let's try if you can summon me. Ringing the resonant bell in a sec.

Run. They're easy to kill though so I don't know why you;d want to avoid them unless you've already died to the boss.

You haven't gotten to the
forbidden forest
area yet?

If you want some spoilers:

1) The first shortcut you should unlock is in the village with floor trap where you fall into a pit. On the right side of that area is a room with a locked door. To unlock it keep going through the level until you get to a section with a swamp and a guy throwing molotovs from a bridge. Right after that, hug the right side and there's a cave which will lead to the other side of that door. Now you can skip the whole village area by running into that door and go straight to the cannon area.

2) The second shortcut is unlockable immediately after you encounter the first guy with a snakehead. After you fight him, look around for a path that u-turns from your primary direction and goes down a little. It should lead back around to an elevator which brings you back to the start of the level (i.e. the door right next to the lantern). Now you can skip everything from the lantern to the snake area.

3) The third shortcut, I don't remember exactly where you unlock it, but I think what you do is from the first snake head guy, follow the path around hugging the left (cliff area). Eventually you will see a large chasm, and at the bottom fo the chasm are some guys that look like aliens. Follow the chasm until you reach the point that it's safe to drop down without dying, then continue down it until you get to a lake. There's 2 exits from this lake. One is towards a river with some large rats that leads to the boss, and the other is towards an elevator that goes back to the tower right before the snake head guy.

With 2 and 3 unlocked, you enter the tower by the lantern, take it to the snake head guy area, backtrack into the tower, take that elevator, and run to the boss. Takes less than 2 minutes.

Does the progression bug apply to 100 % if i helped ppl in Forbidden Woods or can i get lucky? Totally forgot that it existed and helped a few ppl beat the boss there.

The run from chapel lamp to
One Reborn
is pretty long and it's difficult to not take damage. I'm not 100% sure if there's a lamp closer to the fog door, though.

For that boss it's faster to
use the very first Yahar'gul Lantern, go down the elevator, jump through the hole halfway through, run past the dogs and click on the bath teleport, run across the bridge/walkway, kill the bell woman, go down the ladder,
and then you're home free to teh boss.

She
shows up at the Grand Cathedral in my game. The only time I meet her before was at the very beginning of the game. At this point I was very late in the end and I have no idea what triggered it. She tried to kill me right away.

Hmm... good to know. I read that once you kill
Rom
she shows up there but if you didnt do the second part of her quest at
Tomb of Oedon
she is hostile. I guess I can still get her weapon then at least. Thanks!

you can jump off the elevator, inspect a bath and spawn right next to the boss fog

Its takes no more than 40seconds to get to a boss once youve attempted it once. Unless you aint opening shortcuts or tryna beat every enemy.

i cant speak for everyone but summoning is one of the worst ways to beat a boss tbh. Its so anti-climactic no where near as satisfying as beating a boss on your own. It sounds more like your playing the game for the sake of beating it instead of having fun and taking it at your own pace and

No what I'm doing is expressing my disappointment that the FROM game design makes it hard for me to play it the way I want to play it. I would like to master all the boss battles and solo the bosses. It seems fun. But I feel like FROM forcing me to wait through long loading screens and run past lots of enemies for a long time upon each death makes me less interested in playing the way that I would like to be playing.

I'm constantly switching armor depending on what area I'm in or what boss I'm facing to get better elemental/status effect defenses.

Reposting cause we're moving quick.

Also what, The Doll
went immobile? I can still upgrade with her, but this is kind of unsettling.

bag men in hyopgeal, after having 10+ insight i get 1 twin shard every other kill. you can drag them back down the stairs and they won't be able to reach you rifle spear or ludwig r2 is great for this

I didn't know about this bug, and cooped this boss after I beat it several times. I guess I got lucky

Just beat
The One Reborn
. Probably the easiest boss I've fought so far. It seems that the most difficult areas have the easiest bosses (
Forbidden Woods, Nightmare Frontier, Yahar'gul, Unseen Village
).

I think I've only got a few main story areas left, so I think I'll tackle
Cainhurst Castle
and
Upper Cathedral Ward
first.

Try summoning without the password. I would normally love to help but I have not been able to connect with anyone using the password and I am prob too high of a level as well. Most summon players are pretty helpful. It normally takes 1 or 2 attempts with a summon player to reck the boss :)

Might be that I'm level 56, but nobody is showing up.

It's not required but it would be wise. You can one shot almost everything by easy parrying. Bosses get wrecked by this too.

Well, that said I'm gonna train it!

I feel like Bloodborne doesn't want me to play the bosses with maximum challenge.

The co-op is a big portion of the game! Use it with no worries!
But don't forget to search every area so you can unlock every single shortcut... they're what makes bosses restries much less frustrating.

The

Also, can someone point me in the right direction at F

Guys, im walking around with 120k echoes about to face
Logarius
with 55 insight, how fucked am I :(

Keep in mind I absolutely wrecked
Cainhurst Castle
up until now. Also, awesome zone for what is essencially something many people wont see (I would say most for new timers to souls games)

I think I'm stuck. Don't know where to go at this point. Beat like 5 bosses, I'm level 59, and I just keep running in circles. Still having a ton of fun though

I'm just wearing what I think looks the best

Died, sorry. God, I hate this fucker. Been trying for 3 hours now. Can't fucking do it.

Anyone feel like helping with late optional boss
Ebrietas? Lvl 63.

The key to that boss is damage. Max out your weapons. Get that shit to +10 and get some very strong gems in. Co-op partners don't help much, because usually when you die on that fight it's because you got 1 shotted. Here's a video of me killing the boss if it helps.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FvSCHOiNzQ

I actually got within a sliver of dying myself, but you can see how much of a difference having good damage makes. I have a single combo for over 3300 damage at one point. When I tried it with +7 weapons I was barely scratching it.

Did you beat VA yet? If not do that. If so go to the door where the guy asks for a password.

So, at the end if every chalice dungeon I get an item to make a new, harder/more advanced one?

Yep. I opened up a rather glorious looking coffin in the first dungeon and thought it might contain something nice. Nope, blood for more chalice rituals lol

Stop dictating how people should play the game.

Coop is enjoyable. Let people have fun.

Yayyyyy! just beat B
lood
S
tarved
B
east
! That was pretty intense...

I had this fight on lock then I started wasting all my blood vials thinking they were antidotes, because I hadn't had to use them up to that point and was focusing more on making sure my eyes weren't being clawed out. I quit through frustration given I was ready to go back in, however I didn't have any healing for the fight and didn't want to waste time farming. The vial system is so much worse than Estus flasks, it makes maps much easier and boss battles much more frustrating.
